Did you mean, "to be real"? Because the closest answer that comes to my mind right now would be being authenthic, not faking or trying to pretend being something or someone you're not...

If you meant what is "real"... Well i could point you to the Matrix (first movie) to add to the controversy. In that kind of setting, what is real is what we suspect to be real, it can turn out being real, or unreal, after deliberation or serious analysis.

I mean the idea that you are putting forward. What does it mean to be like that? Is it just being a democrat in a room full of republicans, or is it being a revolutionary trying to bring down the powers? Are psychopaths more authentic than truth-tellers, or is it vice versa? Should we consider all people equally real, as people are beholden to their natures, or how should we consider the issue?
