No - because you need, e.g. for caffeine, anything between 2 g and 10 g to have a fatal effect. This would mean you need to drink litres of espresso. The intoxication during this process would be so strong that after the first litre of espresso you be not able to bring the cup on your mouth.

You do realize, that caffeine comes in pills too, right?

There have been many people who have died due to caffeine overdose from taking too many caffeine pills. Depending on your body weight and other factors, it could take as little as 16 or so pills, perhaps up to 20-ish.[/quote]

I do not say the system is consistent: Quite the opposite is case, but the idea behind is reasonable.

Just because it's been declared a drug in it's pure form doesn't mean it's going to be controlled in an impure form (or even pure form, aside from requiring proper labeling). Pure Oxygen is considered a drug, yet lets try to see the FDA regulate the oxygen content of normal air.

The article is quite misleading... first, it makes a suggestion, without exactly saying so, that vitamin B6 has been declared a scheduled drug vis-a-vis the Federal Controlled Substances Act. No such thing has happened, and this would be the only action the FDA could take that would make a substance illegal. All that has happened was that the FDA has declared Vitamin B6 to be safe and effective for the treatment of an ailment, which gives the company that originated the petition (and any other company) the right to use language in their labeling and advertisement suggesting that the vitamin can be used to treat said ailment.

Nothing more, nothing less.

The author of this article is using this issue to further their stated claims that the FDA, as well as the Federal Trade Commission (the government agency charged with combatting consumer fraud) are evil, malicious organisations who are beholden to the evil and powerful drug companies.

Such reporting is at best irresponsible, and at worst likely to cause people to throw away their vitamins for fear of prosecution for illegal drugs.

I count no fewer than 17 ads on that page, for products such as a "secret technique that lets you defend against any attack", a book called "Endgame: Blueprint for total enslavement", another book that tells you that solar energy is possible, and a product that promises to produce water from thin air. This website is obviously intended for the gullible people who are expected to buy these worthless products because the website is on their side in the battle against the evil forces of the government who seek to enslave mankind.

What a racket.

The tax on alcohol in the UK is very substantial (less than in the Scandinavian countries, but much higher than in the rest of Europe).

It doesn't always work like that. Chip fat can be used as crude biodiesel. However they can only rightfully tax it as fuel if it is being used that way.

I still need to check whether in that instance you are correct. Not tonight.

Sometimes the law is just weird
if they've outlawed B6 because an overdose can be fatal, they better ban Vitamin D as well. Considering you also get this from the suns rays, I suppose we'd all have to wear big black clothing to try and not have an illegal substance in our bloodstream
