its "obscured" because it will take us intill mountains can knit sweatters untill we pass around the other side?

Hum. The Milky way is about 1,000 lightyears thick, and assuming we are equidistant vertically, being 500 lightyears from either edge, and the fastest we can currently travel is around 12% the speed of light, then:

t= d/r = 500ly/0.12c = 4,200 years

And with minimal relativistic effects it would be about the same amount of time in the reference frame of the spacecraft before being able to see the obscured region of the galaxy.

The appearance of motion is there certainly, and in the reference frame of Earth's surface it can be said that the sun makes a circuit around the Earth, though it isn't technically accurate in terms of actual motion it is a valid perspective. Tycho Brahe's model though?

Here is the real truth about heliocentrism and geocentrism!

Leave it to religionists to pollute science with arrogance and superstition.

That site seems as authentic as Landover Baptist...

BTW, I don't subscribe to Geocentrism, but here is a notable stance that is an
actual modern position among actual Creationists, such as myself, Galaxto-centrism.

Actual motion? All motion is relative! There is not ether, not absolute motion, so we simply choose an inertial reference frame and as long as we stick with it, we'll be fine.

Hey, the Tychonistic system is cool. Geocentrism and heliocentrism, all at the same time! :D :P

Funny thing, arrogance doesn't seem to be an exclusive religionist quality.

No, it has to do with wether you paid attention or not in highschool.

Why? Have you gone through the relevant calculations and made the measurements so that you can say with confidence that you know geocentrism is wrong? For all that you can actually say or prove, there is no reason to favor either heliocentrism or geocentrism.

Its been a few years, but the answer is YES! :D If you were to observe the position of the 5 planets visible to the naked eye in the night sky over a period of say, 6 months, they have a tendency to appear as if they are moving across the sky and then turning around and moving in the opposite direction! 8O You DO realize that the interplanetary probes that we have launched are guided using Heliocentric and NOT geocentric coordinates. If geocentricity were correct then a probe launched from the Earth would fly out into space in a arc away from the Earth, and since this has been MANY times(like the 15 missions to Mars by the NASA) and the probes DO NOT follow such a path! They follow a spiral pathway which is what the heliocentric model predicts as they are under the influence of the suns gravity.

I'm not sure if this particular bit of information was ever covered in any of my high school courses. If it was mentioned, I did not bother to remember such trivia. Wikipedia is in my Bookmarks bar and my Speed Dial for a reason.

We are not in an inertial reference frame.

Wrong. There is no physical basis for geocentrism. The model wherein the bodies of the solar system revolve around its center of mass is consistent with the laws of mechanics and gravitation.

Interesting other trivia:

Where is most of the angular momentum in the solar system:

The sun? Or the planets and asteroid belt?

the universe revolves around me.
wherever i go i am here in the center of the universe.
there is as much distance to my left as there is to my right. there is as much distance above me as there is below me.
therefore i am at the center of the universe.

or so it seems to me
