whats wrong with the uyghurs?
why this constant priority for the tibetans?
is it because tibetans are cooler, being buddhists, while the uyghurs are just simple muslims?
i know the answer tho, and its this:
the tibet issue has media coverage.
uyghuristan does not.
uyghuristan has even been repeatedly nuked by china, as part of tests. still nobody gives a sh**.
and in case you still dont get what im talking about, the uyghurs are the northern part, above tibet, with a independence struggle as long as the tibetans.
screw the uyghurs.
and screw tibet.
honestly.
the one thing they have in common, is that independent they would be two huge, barely populated countries, with intense poverty.
I care about both the Tibetans AND the Uyghurs. And all the other people who are being oppressed around the world. Why must we prioritise humanity? Is it not possible to care about everyone?
for me, no, not everyone at once anyway. there are too many, with specific needs and demands, and many demands overlap.
independence is a very tricky issue, and china isnt the only country that consists of several cultures melded together.
india is just one example of tons of cultures inside one country, and at least one separatist movement for each of them.
just too much. instead of picking one favorite, i just stay clear. nothing i can do anyway :/
henriksson: you and your tuvans. how many are they anyway? 5000?
