Since when is Fuzzy a liberal loony? And dwamom has always seemed much more moderate than leftist to me. MP is admittedly pretty far to the left, but still generally within the realm of reason.

Seriously, if those are your exhibits of "liberal loonies" then we certainly do have a far-right lean here, with Browning, parakeet, rho, ruveyn, and several others.

Aw, thanks.

Did you know I have voted conservative 8 or so times; that is, every opportunity I have had so far?

Do you think maybe you have a screwed definition of what constitutes the left/right divide?

You're actually paying attention to this guy? I mean he left out Redhanaran, Xenon13, Neanthuman, Marshall, Auntblabby and Sand (just off the top of my head) from his list and any one of them is lefty-er than most of who he named, and those are just the somewhat active names I can think of. If anything right now is about as close to ideologically balanced as I've seen this forum get, there are more left leaning posters total, but the right leaning ones are vocal enough to make their presence felt out of proportion to their number. I prefer it more balanced myself, it keeps things interesting and prevents PPR from devolving into an echo chamber.

I agree entirely with Dox. All of those people are lefty-er in some form or fashion than the mentioned people.

That being said, I like hearing my voice echo.

Me? To the Right? I oppose collectivism and I am not fond of government. You will not find me either the socialist or fascist camp.

I am rather fond of new fangled gizmos and I enjoy seeing things and meeting people I have not encountered before. And I am all in favor of ....happy, joy and fun..... Well behaved foreigners and immigrants have prevent to the U.S. from completely going to squash rot.

On the other hand I find liberals and do-gooders rather a pain in the arse.

I was right about the trousers and the porridge though. Everyone gets a little bit right-wing about comfort in the trouser department. Especially in later years.

Count me in as a Libertarian Socialist and atheist/anti-theist who doesn't post much in PPR.

I have much bigger fish to fry within my own microcosm and i've basically become very cynical and misanthropic anyway. There's nothing I can do to change this sickest of all societies for the better. I have about as much power and influence as the average homeless person does. What I am supposed to do? Vote for Ralph Nader or something? Thus....I really don't like discussing politics and religion anymore.

Aw, Macbeth. I think you've got it all wrong. I've honestly TRIED to dislike ruveyn, but he really makes that difficult to do.

I admire anyone who can make up their own mind rather than adhere to one form of group-thinking or another. Ruveyn picks and chooses with good sense. On certain issues we are on opposite sides, but I like the fact that ruveyn doesn't seem to disagree "for the sake of disagreeing." I like people who aren't carbon-copies of one ideology or another, and sometimes I wonder if the more liberal among us aren't guilty of promulgating that line of thinking because it's "popular," "cool," or "anti-establishment" rather than really examining the issues. We young'uns have a lot to learn, I think, from people like ruveyn and Sand. We may not necessarily agree, but there is nothing wrong with engagements that force us to think. Many of us can't even BEGIN to imagine the kinds of things they experienced throughout their lives, but I'm almost certain some of those things are much uglier realities than anything we'll ever have to contend with.

I pray to God that it stays that way.
