Why do people disapprove of homosexuality?

This. ^^What is with heterosexuals and their weird ideas about anal sex? It's almost an unhealthy obsession.
I don't recall where I read it, but some statistic showed more heterosexuals practice anal sex on a regular basis than homosexuals.

If I were a woman, I wouldn't give the time of day to a guy who wouldn't go down on me. It is packing the fudge and males engaged in mutual fellation that freak the masses out.
That is a different story. It involves a male and a female.

No need for deep statistics, just look at what's on offer from the porno industry these days. Somebodies got to be buying all those anal videos.

That's true. I have also been with women who were into that. There are plenty even on WP who talk about it in the Adult section
I guess there are more straight fudge-packers than gay?

I know what actually does bother you, though. You were raised with the idea that men and women have unique roles in society and unique roles in sex. You probably see, next to any lone male, an empty place where a woman goes, a Prince Charming without a Cinderella. The reason you have trouble with gay people is that you were not given a context for understanding their place in society during your early development. They are a block that doesn't have a corresponding hole to put it in.
And that's why it's so vitally important to teach young people about the idea of gay people. Not gay sex, just gay people. This way, they will grow up with the kind of tidy, little pigeonholes that most people require for understanding each other. This would make everyone's lives a lot easier.

err... why is it a different story again? Are woman's" fudges" less of a potential health threat than male ones?

As long as you are getting an outstanding blow job, wouldn't you prefer a toothless old man who was good with his tongue, versus a squeemish 18-year-old Victoria's Secret model who bites?

The thought of a male getting near my genitals in anything other than a medical examination shivers my timbers. The mere thought screams Abomination! at the top of its lungs.

The thought of a woman near mine for anything like that turns me off too. However, it does not turn off all women. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean that it isn't right for someone else.
It's not like anyone is going to force you to do that, at least in the free world. I certainly don't see gay people starting organizations to "convert" straight people, like some organizations try and "convert" gay people. I have never met a group or gay men or women whose idea of fun on a Saturday night is going out to find straight people and beat them up. I don't see gay people refusing to hire or rent to straight people. I know some pretty gay men who have absolutely no interest in women, sexually. They don't go around preaching at straight men to stop doing that.
I'm also not saying that you do any of those things ruveyn, not at all. My point is that just because it's not what you or I would enjoy, does not mean that it isn't a perfectly valid expression of love or lust for someone else.
If someone is against it because of their religion, then so be it. It's their religion and they have that right to their opinion. I don't feel that they have a right to try and legally ban it for everyone else. As long as they are consenting adults, why is it anyone else's business? Sure, you may see two men or women on the street holding hands. How is that a terrible thing? Last I checked, most couples, gay or straight, do not engage in full on intercourse in public. Nobody has to see anyone having sex that hey don't want to see.
Also, simply because a person is not attracted to people of the same sex does not make them automatically have to be against it. All I wish for for my children and my friends, is good solid relationships where they are happy and in love. I could care less what's in their spouse's pants!

There was a time in my life when it was being pressed on me, mainly by straight guys who saw it as their duty to convert me. Well, knowing how disturbing it is for you to think of some gay guy trying to offer you a beejay, consider how it probably affects a gay guy when some fratboy idiot is trying to convert him to being "straight."
Let me tell you about the last time this happened to me. This was back LONG before I actually knew I was gay. Two guys were trying to talk me into initiating something with a girl apparently "the town bike," as women like that are called. I was shoved into a confrontation with the young lady, and I found myself saying something like, "I am sorry, but these guys seem to expect something from me. I wish they would understand that I'm really not interested. Could you help me here?" (whatever it was, it was perfectly distinct English, which is NOT what you would expect out of a straight guy suddenly confronted with a sexually attractive and apparently experienced female). Well, I'll give the dame some credit: she tried to be helpful. She turned to them and scolded them, with this eloquent scowl creasing her otherwise flawless forehead. In a more enlightened society, they might have realized their mistake and left me alone. As it was, I think I heard the sound of a guillotine somewhere in the background. I knew no peace from peers of the same sex after that.
Its not just you who doesn't feel comfortable thinking of sexual situations with people you are not attracted to. It's everybody. Join the club. At least you have always been in a situation where you could laugh about it. You've never had an accompanying sense that your reaction has somehow cut you off from society. You have never felt that sense of isolation closing in on you. How long do you think that you could remain rational under those kinds of circumstances?
I've noticed something very different about young gay guys emerging today. There's some weird, semi-permeable barrier between me and them. Somehow, there is a scar on me that is nowhere on them. There is a brutal, ugly underbelly to the world that I have seen. I am glad enough that they have grown up half-blind to it, maybe distantly aware of it but never having been exposed to it like I was. I don't think that knowing about it has improved me or made me a better person. It has just left me bitter and angry. I'm glad enough that gay youth today don't have to go through a time, like I did, when they feel like they are living dead. There are certain parts of the human soul that we just shouldn't see, at least not until we're prepared for it. If you don't see it until you've grown up, you realize that it's an ugly part of us that we try to keep covered and controlled for the sake of decency. It's not something that ever had a chance to hurt you.
So go ahead and laugh off your disgust, like you always have. The fact that you can do so is a blessing. I'm glad that you have that luxury, just like I am glad that today's gay youth can also hold on to a certain part of their innocence for a little while longer than I had the privilege of. It's a miracle.

Other people's sexual preferences are of no interest to me. Except for my spouse of course. I have a female spouse, children and grand children. Things that will not bother you.

You seem to have this concept that gay people are out there screwing each other and engaging in deviant acts purely for the sake of shallow and superficial gratification. It is likely that you are a bigot, so I doubt that you will ever acknowledge the fact that gay relationships are--or at least can be--just as tangled and complex as any intimate relationship you might find yourself in. You have no concept that the lives that two men can have together might mean something besides a simple moment of carnal gratification, and I don't think that you are capable of having one. I don't think that you could ever see anything in two gay men except for a couple of crass deviants because you have blinded yourself to any other concept of their character. Bigots never change. Well, it's somewhat entertaining, sometimes, to bite, not for the sake of inflicting harm but more for the simple carnal satisfaction of the chomp. I do try to restrict my aggression to either inanimate objects or convincing human facsimiles of thereof (ie, dummies). I'll tone it down, though, so I won't spoil the discussion.Quote:
I don't like thinking about gay sex but that's because I'm straight and it's not my cup of tea. I don't need to call it an abomination or make a big deal out of it.
Well, my suggestion is to try to draw a distinct mental boundary, in your concept of people, between straight people and gay people. It might make you feel weird to think of two straight guys, who would have the same inclinations and attitudes of two straight guys, having an intimate relationship with each other. However, if you can really get it to sink in that a couple of queens are a different species of dude altogether, what do you see? A nice, clean-cut gay couple. Harmless, usually beneficial members of the community. As family members, they are the quintessential "gay uncle." You have to have little pigeonholes in your mind to really deal with people efficiently. You can do without them, but it's rather cumbersome and uncomfortable. They're only bad when you let it drift into runaway stereotyping.
