It comes from the idea that you are not supposed to take the Lord's name in vain. E.g. in the ancient Jewish tradition the tetragrammaton (יהוה transliterated into English as Jehova or Yahweh variously) was supposed to be read "Adonai". I think writing "G-d" is a modern version of that.

Clarification, please:

If morality is objective, why are people constantly in disagreement over what is moral?

If the One True Morality has simply not been discovered by yet, how can there be an undiscovered morality?

If some have discovered the One True Morality, and some have not, how can one determine who has it?

family have always been very christian [including to the point of having own autism blamed on satan by parents] and not sure if believe in a god,because of all the animals that are tortured and abused,as an adult am found related a lot more to LaVayan satanism than their god.

Probably because it's simply a poetic mask on the absence of superstition mixed with an aesthetic and attitude that parodies Christianity. Atheists reject superstitious lies and go about their lives. Satanists reject the superstitious and then mock one of the most successful superstitions to date by finding ways to morally go about acts it deems unholy.

Because it is angled specifically against Christianity, I have no special fondness for it, but for someone who perhaps was taken in by Christianity for a while, I might understand the fixation. If only every religion had its own equivalent of Satanism, I might smile all day.

It would be better if we could go straight to getting over such growing pains, though. Tribalism really is overrated, don't you think? I look forward to the Galactic Federation of Wikizonooglepedia. Yes, we can!
