Second, A lot of the muslim beliefs offend me, stoning, hanging of gays, death to nonbelieves, etc, yet I deal with it, so if I post a picture showing how Islam is used to justify killing innocent people, they can complain but just deal with it.

muslims have a tradition of tolorence in the Past, particularly in Islamic Spain

and being gay was okay in ancient vatican city ( used to be part of Rome) but here and now, Islam is potrayed as a violent, xenophobic, hate filled murderous religion and since I have yet to see the muslim community as a whole condemn it, I hold little sympathy for those offended by my pictures.

Wahhabis are under Sunni jurisdiction. Sufis can be either/or. The number appeared so low because they mainly are labeled under the over-arched label of Sunni/Shi'a. I dont speak for other forms of Islam. But you people are being overly prejudice against them as a whole and making gross assumptions.
As for what the other poster said about Nobel prizes, they are not the end-all of all things accomplished. I have little respect for them. I dont pay much attention to science but in literature an extremely dissproportionate amount of winners came from Scandinavia(a region not known for a huge amount of great writers) while Asian writers barely win at all. Im still shocked they gave it to Mahfouz...Its all politically motivated as to who wins.
And as for the images, I would be grossly offended if you were to show Muhammad and a pig or whatever it is you said. Why be offensive for the sake of being offensive? Its just stupid and childish and you know it. I cant respect someone who doesnt respect me back, maybe thats where the problem starts. I dont care about the images shown already, they aren't anything I dont hear about on a daily basis in the US.
Seriously I live in a city and discrimination is alive and well. Orwell, you probably dont see it because you arent of Middle-Eastern descent so it doesnt affect you as much. We're they only race in America that its still cool to discriminate against.
BTW why do you guys care so much about Islam? It doesnt hold any power in the US at all...

I beg your pardon? Literature is a big thing over here, and it just happens to be a region known for a huge amount of writers, from people of all classes and walks of life. Writing and reading has been a big thing the past two centuries, it comes off as a bit arrogant that you disregard this.

Writing isn't just a hobby for rich princes over here.

According to the location you've listed on the left, you live in either the South (probably the greatest stronghold of discrimination and ignorance in the West) or New York, where many people have rather a sore spot when it comes to a religion that is perceived to be responsible for thousands of civilian deaths in their city. In other words, probably the two worst places to be a Middle-Easterner in the US. For the most part, people in other parts of the country seem relatively OK with Middle-Easterners. Heck, I'm from the Midwest and even here Middle Easterners don't seem to face any particular problems.

And again, you are not comparing like with like. What, do you get bad service in restaurants because of a racist waiter?

It's gaining ground, especially on university campuses, and they are pushing for changes in our society that I do not want. Muslims are vocal far out of proportion to their numbers.

Im not saying that Scandinavia doesnt have great writers but c'mon. 16 times out of around 90? Scandinavia doesnt even have 20 million people. China has never won, India one once(under Britain), and Middle East won once, as did Africa. Great literature is produced in all of these regions yet they NEVER win. Non-Japan Asia has never won as well. It is a pro-West instiution and is not the supreme decider or judge of anything. Im just tired of people acting as if Nobel prizes are THAT important...

Thats because Muslims almost all go to college here.(at least non-nation of islam ones...)
Anyway the worst I have experienced was getting robbed for it, getting the snot beaten out of me quite a few times(for racism), and job discrimination. Those are pretty serious offences imo

It's because they're really freaking active in trying to find university students who are away from home and questioning their faith, and then attempting to brainwash said students.

Really? Physical violence is not at all typical. The Muslims I know have never faced violence, even the ones who did make themselves to be obnoxious pests. You're certain this was solely because of your race/religion? A robbery could well just be a robbery, they'll steal from anyone who looks like an easy target.

And this may be contingent on what parts of a city you're trying to walk around in. There are parts of New York that you'd just have to be an idiot to go into, and claiming that getting mugged there was a result of racism would be silly. The inner cities are dangerous for blacks, whites, Asians, and Arabs alike.

What evidence do you have of job discrimination? I'd suggest you take that up with the proper authorities. Unlike certain other countries, here in the US we have established procedures for remedying such ills and actively seek to prevent discrimination against outsiders.

First part: I agree with you. I am completely against proselytism(again I only speak for Sufis).
Second part: I got jumped for being Middle-Eastern, the people explictly told me this. I was only 13 and I am not the only one. I was just in a subway heading home from school back to the Island. Shady characters are everywhere though. I would never judge a country by its dredges. Job discrimination happens, I had more experience and great referrences yet the place chooses to hire a local football player who never had a job over myself. Even though I worked in the field before(culinary). Interviewer didnt like me the second she saw me. Its the past and I dont care enough to go through bureaucracy to stop it

Quick mental calculation: 2004, in New York City. Only three years post-9/11. I am not insinuating that you, or Muslims in general, are responsible for the extremist attacks on 9/11, but to most people, Muslims did 9/11. It's a sore spot when civilians in your hometown get butchered. Even so, most Muslims in New York are not routinely beaten. From what I understand, New York has a relatively large and thriving Muslim community.

That's not necessarily even an issue of racial discrimination. The local football player gets a bit of favoritism quite frequently. And frankly, I've been rejected various times in favor of other applicants who were vastly less qualified on any objective grounds, but it was usually for whatever bizarre subjective criteria were being employed rather than a case of prejudice.

I would also like to add another possiblitly. I am not saying you personally are a jerk BUT I have met people who claim to be "discriminated against" by "racists" when the truth of the matter was actaully they were total douches who just happened to be a minority. I hear it all the time "I was fired for being black!" no, you were fired for showing up late to work. "I was fired because the owner is racist!" No, you were chatting with your friends instead of working!
