What's to be said...???

12 pages and most posts by North Americans.

What do I think? greedy, wasteful, often arrogant, more often ignorant and just a little too in love with violence but I'll still greet each individual as I meet them.

For the record the USSR bore the brunt of beating Germany in world war two, check your history! In fact you guys sat out the first year getting rich of all sides, clever but despicable.

By the way who is the bigger coward the suicide bomber? or the guy on Diego Garcia firing cruise missiles?

Good neighbors listen to each other and accept each other and don't steal your stuff or invade your front room.

peace from nuke free New Zealand kind supplier of SAS hit squads to your Afghanistan franchise [to our shame]

 j

Actually, I think that a lot of people in the so-called "Third World" eat better (healthier, anyway) than plenty of Americans

Have you seen what they looked like in Somalia after a famine. Better fat than dead.

But better lean than fat.

I am pretty sure Kosovo has a positive opinion about us. They have a street named after Bill Clinton there.

I am completely surprised RedHanrahan hates America. He hates it so much that he called me a xenophobe for saying they should come to the country to check it out in person :D. I appreciate that comment and gladly put it in my sig.

From the Wiki Article on Obesity in Germany:

Germany compared to other European countries
In Germany, 60% of men and 43% of women are considered overweight while in France, 38.5% of men and 26% of women are considered overweight.[16] Germans are considered thinner than people in the United Kingdom.[16]

The obesity level in Germany is in the middle compared to other European countries.[7] Out of 44 countries, Germany is ranked 39th for women and 42nd for men for cholesterol levels.[7]

The people in France are in better shape. Unfortunately the French are incapable of holding a moral principle even with both their hands.

As a whole, we do eat like crap. Most of the people in those pictures were people probably living in poverty or lower on the socioeconomic ladder. Poorer people tend to be fatter people, because healthier alternatives are expensive. I am not sure how it is in Europe, but poverty is closely related to obesity in the United States.

Our problem is with the choices we make regarding our diets.

In the third world, for the most part, they cannot grow or import enough food to eat properly.

In the U.S.A. we have the means, if not the will, to eat properly and exercise enough

Actually, in a lot of poorer countries, people eat a lot of fresh food (fresh fish, fresh vegetables, not so much meat, but when they do eat meat, it is fresh) every day. People who don't have refrigerators go the the market every day.

No sugar-laden cereals, no twinkies.

I remember in Taiwan a long time ago, McDonald's restaurants were quite expensive, and people regarded McDonald's as quite a luxury.

Of course, wherever Coca Cola has made inroads, diabetes and tooth decay are on the rise.

Still, the USA, where about 3/4 of us are overweight, is way ahead of Germany.

Beer will certainly do it to you, which is why I've sworn off the substance. I'm still fat, but I've found a means of reducing my fat, which has been having a positive impact so far.

Of course, various island-nations in the Pacific win the fat contest, hands down.
