This is what I do not agree with, although it is NYPD policy.
You're hopeless. I'm not going to waste any more time banging my head against the brick wall.

You don't understand the effect of bullets on living things. You'd need to have at least a grasp of that to even know whether or not you agree.

And about tasers, I still want to know why you don't like them.

We've discussed this topic in another thread.
I still think it's too easy to abuse, dehumanizing, and best left inside the fences of prisons.
All three of those should be easy enough to understand and if not, too bad.

No sh*t?

If you read back a few pages, someone basically suggested that pepper was just as good at taking people down and we didn't guns.

Where?

And shooting a person, specifically at the CNS is not abuse? What an irony for a person who talk about 'civil rights' all the time.

Sure but my point was elswere. How many officers were there? 20? More? And they didn't come up with any better solution than firing 12 bullets on the street full of people? Sorry but that shows something about their quality...

Someone basically didn't get it.

I totally agree with you. The man is clearly mentally unstable. There is no evidence that he is aiming at attacking anyone in mind. His knife is ineffective. I don't believe the official training does not include how to handle such a man in hand to hand combat.

I wanted, but you said I am not capable to understand your explanation so you did not.
Could you be more specific? What is the difference in abuse of taser vs gun? And dehumanization by taser vs gun?

Maybe it does, but why to risk if they can shoot him like this with no problem. And there was officer with taser on his way, but they didn't wait and did... whatever it was.

Tasers are interesting in that they actually cut down on how much the cops have to use the baton to deal with a non-compliant arrestee, Tasers actually lead to fewer Rodney King type incidents since they end the physical fight much more quickly than beating down the suspect.

You are comparing equipment for different sections of the force continuum. Deadly force is met with deadly force. Things like pepper gas give the user extra options aside from the gun.

It's actually possible to overcome a Taser. All you need is just enough concentration and willpower to pull out the electrodes. That won't make it easy or less painful, and you'll probably hit the ground before overpowering the Taser. It CAN be done, though.

It is doable. It is a matter of technique, practice, and the right equipment. Equipment doesn't provide guarantees. It just improves your odds of success.

It pisses me the f*ck off that "machine guns"(as in fully automatic firearms) are illegal in my state of WA. Stupid liberals!

I totally want a pre-ban AK-47 auto. If I lived in NOLA or anywhere in TX, you can bet your bottom dollar I'd own one considering all the ret*d rednecks down there.

If you go down there with that attitude towards self-defense, you will likely sooner or later end up getting prosecuted and end up losing the gun. There's a huge difference between being annoying and dangerous.

How old are you anyway??? :?
