Not quite. Manslaughter is an included lesser charge in Florida only when one side or another requests it.

Yes, and most all of our shooters are safe and follow the rules. Most infractions are relatively minor and the major ones are actually rare. Being a shooting range we tend to be rather stringent about safety. To be honest, the worse time is just before hunting season and all the hunters come out to sight in rifles and shotguns and to practice their shooting. The ones that are hunters but not regular shooters tend to be the most unsafe from not handling their guns as much and not being around as many people when they do handle them. Still, less than half are like this but those few weeks before hunting season are the hairiest for RO’s.

This has been my experience as well. The people who carry guns tend to be the most serious. Hunters and recreational shooters only tend to be the most reckless.

I think Zimmerman had to take at least one gun safety course to qualify for his concealed carry permit - though, to be perfectly honest, he needs more training on de-escalating conflict.

No he just needs to open his ears when the police say 'go home'.

The person on the other end of the phone is doing a job, they're not there for the fun of it.

Next time he won't be so lucky if its someone his own size and age.

Of course it does, the NRA offers self-defense insurance policies to members (well, technically it's a third party company that is partnered with the NRA, but that distinction is largely meaningless). Zimmerman had a policy, he needed to use it, so the underwriters paid out the policy.

People seem to think that all the NRA is is "the gun lobby". A large part of it is (the NRA-ILA), but a lot of it is a members association that makes money selling stuff to gun nuts like me and Raptor. One of those things is insurance.

You want to tell me about the police, do you? My step-father is a retired Chief of Police, my recently-deceased grandfather was Deputy Director of the FBI. I count more LEOs, EMTs, and fire fighters as close personal friends than you could possibly imagine. People who are attracted to law enforcement are not just there for "a job". They do what they do (at least the good ones) because they believe profoundly that what they do on a regular basis helps the communities they serve.

...and i imagine it must have been an incredibly frustrating job for him, when window licking citizens don't bother to heed advice that they impart.

I can't be bothered to contribute to this thread anymore. Obviously the gun loons have made up their mind and I've said my £0.01 anyway.

I'm just going to file this under the bulging drawer of 'thank god for the atlantic ocean'.

I'm going to run out of space soon, thanks to you wingnuts.

There has never been a fatal injury here in any of our hunting seasons for over twenty years.
I would say the fact that most people are raised around them has something to do with that.
People like to shoot cans in their yards so they fool around with them year round. My son has handled a gun since he was seven, with his Dad's supervision. He was a good teacher, expert marksman when he was in the Army.Kids here know what a bullet does to flesh,I think that makes you more cautious with a gun.My foster Dad shot a watermelon in front of the kids and said"Thats your friend's head, don't point a gun at someone ever."He was a very direct man.

I guess being called out for not having your facts straight doesn't detract from your bias either. On top of that you've also failed to demonstrate how it had any effect on the outcome of the trial. Thank God you're opting out of this thread, I'm getting fed up with the way you conduct yourself.

Whether or not you murder people yourself, you support it and you seem to think that it is something to be proud of. You make us look like a bunch of barbarians.

I get dumber every second I read your post. Do you even listen to yourself? Where you come from you must be a genius to them so I'd hate to see who actually look up to you.

If this thread continues attracting denigrating responses such as these I'll take that as an invitation to lock it and put it out of its misery.

Not only does it really drive the point home, it also takes the forbidden fruit factor out of them.

Not trying to knock anyone down but I SERIOUSLY have to step out of my own intellectual skin just to try and make sense of his responses. Ok so you're going to have a different opinion on the matter fine. Should he have gotten manslaughter maybe and that is a topic I can debate all day. But calling people who support arms barbarians and saying they are as guilty as those who commit murder. Yeah that's just senseless logic. I feel dumb reading stuff like that and my head hurts from just trying to understand his point of view. I'm starting to think he doesn't have a point of view and he is just trolling the thread.
