Pardon himself from what?

That's a good question. You have to ask why Trump has been talking about pardoning himself if he did nothing wrong.

This rumor stems from the Washington Post claiming it received a tip (from an anonymous source I'm sure) that the president had essentially asked (who?) if he could pardon himself and his family.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... cd2f95b206

At this point in time this has zero credibility in my opinion.

Why? Because it's the Washington Post?

Because it was the WP with their usual 'we received a tip from an anonymous source' routine.

The Washington Post was right when they published Woodward and Bernstein's stories, which were by and large based on anonymous sources (Deepthroat). Sometimes sources won't play ball unless they're given anonymity.

That was one anonymous source. These days it's a revolving door of anonymous sources along with documentation that can't be disclosed etc and it looks shady as hell.

And yet we know Trump's minion had met with the Russians, and had lied about it. Sounds to me as if those anonymous sources aren't far off the mark.

I don't want to burn a monthly NYT article to read the interview, but this reference from a Reuters article deserves comment.

DJT just told everyone where to find the Russia connection, if his pattern holds.

It's not the point of "liberal" or "conservative" with Trump.

Trump transcends politics. In a negative sense.

I wouldn't mind a smooth transition for him back to his reality show. But, of course, that ain't going to happen. I just think he's a P.T. Barnum type.

He only pretends to.

His policies are like those of a typical neocon.

Perhaps.

Is Trumpster Dumpster trapped in the 1950s? Perhaps. This doesn't explain many of his behaviors though.

In my opinion, most conservative politicians are just serving their corporate sponsors most of the time. In other words, more subsides for the billionaires, more tax breaks for billionaires, more oil wars, ect.

Most conservative politicians only spout crap about "traditional values" in order to appease the white working class.

The term "traditional values" is largely a sexist, racist dog whistle. The white males in the working class want more control over their world ... because everyone does. This desire could easily boil over into "class warfare" if it was left unchecked. That would be bad for the super-rich.

The propaganda machine uses the concept of "traditional values" as a diversionary tactic. It's a very dirty social trick. Convince white blokes that oppressing women and minorities is easier than fighting the bourgeoisie.

Of course, the billionaires have other diversionary tactics which they use to appease women and minorities. That's precisely why they funded Obama and Clinton. The black folks were starting to become anti-corporate and so a diversion was created. "Now those black folks will think that they can become rich if they just work hard! Oink!"
