Facts about racism
No, not quite. That was just a quick and dirty google search to find some sources detailing what I'd already read. And you're one to talk, citing a superficial "general pet care" page from a vet as your source on "testosterone = violence".
"Most studies support a link between adult criminality and testosterone"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testosterone
Criminality isn't the same thing as violence. And that finding isn't strange when you factor in that high testosterone correlates with significantly decreased risk aversion.
I could just as easily say that gangs are a consequence of age peers latching onto one another in lieu of an actual male authority figure/role model, considering the high incidence of fatherlessness in "gang culture".
We neuter pets in order to get rid of bothersome behaviours related to mating. That still does not translate into "testosterone = violence". Testosterone is not the only sex hormone.

In a topic called "Facts About Racism" isn't calling for the arbitary castration of all males not only off topic but tantamount to androphobic hate speech?
BTW: There's no such thing as a "male cow." Cattle are divided into two sexes, cows (female) and bulls (male).

1. Cows that are neutered don't turn into bulls. So in my experience, with regards to "grazing cattle", they are colloquially called "cows".
"Cow is in general use as a singular for the collective "cattle", despite the objections by those who insist it to be a female-specific term".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cattle#Terminology
2. No one said that "all males should be castrated".

Celebrating 50 years of the same arguments: It's an overblown problem, the fault of a few bad apples. You don't understand the culture, that's why you find our statements appalling. There was no racism here until those agitators showed up.

Links to a collection that includes contemporary newspaper clippings regarding Freedom Summer. We should make bingo cards, and mark them whenever someone in this thread uses an argument from that time.

Male cattle are called bulls, a bull that has been castrated is called a bullock.
"You're trying to be PC, however, I'm confident that if we castrated all men, then violent crime statistics would plunge." That sounds like suggesting that all males should be castrated to me. What has any of it got to do with the OP "Facts About Racism"?

Therefore, I can only assume that your goal is not to present an honest argument, but to smear white people with unfounded accusations of racism. Why else would you need to bring up the history of racism in Missouri? That's completely irrelevant to this discussion, unless your goal is just to say f**k white people.
Only someone completely ignorant of history would say this. The entire system is racist. Jim Crow laws are coming back in different forms. The criminal justice system is designed to destroy the lives of minorities for profit and afterwards deprive them of the rights of citizenship, all under the guise of law and order.
I bet none of the people who are disagreeing with me have any idea what my argument actually is. Seriously, if someone here who disagrees with me can even accurately summarize what I'm saying, I will be extremely shocked.
I challenge anyone who doesn't like what I'm saying to simply write a short post detailing what it is that I'm saying and what they find wrong with it. That isn't very difficult, but I am confident that my views will either be grossly misrepresented, or simply not taken into account at all.
However, if you do take the challenge, I bet in response that I can sum up your ideas in a way that you find to be fair and accurate.
Any takers?

I actually *did* write a short post detailing what it is that you are saying and what I find wrong with it... On page 2 in this thread...
This is a red herring fallacy, or more specifically a textbook case of the "fallacy of relative privation."
Being concerned about police misconduct and bias does not preclude being concerned about violence in Black communities.
In fact, one of the reasons why crime is more widespread in Black communities might be because people in these communities are less likely - due to experiences with police misconduct and bias - to trust the police.
Furthermore, several current issues with US law enforcement, such as...
- Police militarization
- Insufficient de-escalation training
- Arresting and imprisoning individuals for very minor/trivial offenses (War on Drugs)
... are valid points of criticism irrespective of their disproportionate impact on Black communities.
... But you didn't reply.
Challenge accepted. I didn't bother to read your previous posts and I don't need to, because my objection is that they came from you. I like ad hominem arguments and, to me, anything said by L_Holmes is automatically wrong. Even if I've agreed with it when someone else defended it—I reject the politically correct notion that you have to be consistent. Screw logic! I disagree because I damn want to disagree with you
Kiss whatever you bet goodbye! You can't make me find anything you say fair or accurate, because, to me, a necessary condition for something to be fair or accurate is that you not be the one saying it, as explained above. Game over

I believe you essentially made two points:
- You think the way that some other people use the words "racism", "racist", and related terms are incorrect because they disagree with the definition Google gives.
- You think black-on-black crime is more important than police shooting black people, and don't like that some other people, as you perceive it, put too much emphasis on police shootings when they should be focusing on black-on-black crime.
I have given objections to both points. Summarising them:
1) Words aren't defined by dictionaries. Dictionaries reflect how they were commonly used in the past, and are a useful resource for current common usage, but don't necessarily contain all definitions, particularly technical ones. The two definitions you give for "racism" are equally valid, but in different contexts. The problem is that the more technical one is entering common speech thanks to the internet increasing access to academic information.
2) as summarised by Viper

It's pretty funny to hear the people deflecting onto hip hop culture. For one, they get the references laughably wrong. For example, you can't compare a woman's song about her empowerment that uses explicit sexual language to a comment about sexually assaulting women in explicit language, even if that comment is justified as mere boasting. There's zero equivalence unless the only notable aspect is the language, and that's far from the case.
The problem was that attacking a black celebrity is just too tempting. If they choose someone who Hillary supports, they can tie her to all that culture that frightens Fox News viewers. They can't go after the Rolling Stones, for example. Both Hillary and Trump like them, but they have some pretty repugnant lyrics if you take them out of context (or if you leave them in context, depending on your perspective).
There are lots of really offensive rap lyrics, for sure. They've been denounced or whatever, so they aren't much use in an attack. The funny part is what these offensive rappers use to show off: money, flashy cars, five diamond hotels, beautiful women who seem happy to be treated as sex objects. These are all rich old white dude things, for sure. They also imitate the Mafia, a bunch of nasty white dudes with the most racist and sexist ideas you can find. The Mafia still have a lot of political connections, and Trump has obviously had to deal with them in some fashion. Several have lived in his building. I don't think he's ever criticized them. Mafia guys and rich old white dudes tend to have a lot of kids by different women and extramarital affairs. This behavior is excused and sort of expected from prestigious white guys, but it's a problem if black guys do it. Without that idea, none of the racist dog whistles make any sense.

I operate on the assumption that everything you say is the opposite of your real opinion. To me, your post reads like this:
"Challenge declined. I read all of your previous posts, in fact I was on tenterhooks because I'm deeply moved by everything you say. I despise logical fallacies and, to me, the sun shines directly out of your posterior and you can do no wrong. I agree with everything you say and I love logic! I disagree with you merely to provide a foil for your unquestionably perfect counter-arguments.
Kiss me on the mouth! You don't need to persuade me that everything you say is fair and accurate, because, by definition, the only necessary condition for something to be fair or accurate is that you have expressed it, as explained above. You win by default!"

Did anyone expect anything to be solved on WP?
No, of course not. I just get tired of the epic feuds that lead nowhere. I mean its entertaining to read I suppose but it's also depressing.
