He did say that somewhere somehow, but it's a ridiculous argument. If you eliminate forums created for minorities or special interests, you eliminate Wrong Planet. This entire place is for a minority / special interest group, of a sort, at least.

Why are you so threatened by abnormality? There's nothing wrong with being abnormal and nothing wrong with people who don't assimilate to your world view, or to generic culture at large. You want to blame minorities and "political correctness gawn mad" for all your problems. Nothing makes you happier than when you read that a Black or Asian person has also complained about the influx of foreigners. Because then they have assimilated to the idiotic mores of the British masses. You want everyone marching in lockstep and are threatened by people or ideas that you don't understand.

Possibly for the same kind of reason some people might think/believe/feel only an LGBT person would/should/could moderate the LGBT forum?

Outsiders do not chair A.A. meetings, and people are typically happy when people like me are over in the corners doing their own things.

This has nothing to do with equality, and everything to do with recognizing that we are a distinct population, with a distinct culture and a reaonable need to have a forum in which we can connect with each other.

By your reasoning, why does WP exist? Surely we can talk about our issues in mainstream boards. We can take all our discussion of music to music boards, and all our discussion of games to gamer boards and all our discussion of news and politics to news sites.

An LGBT board exists for precisely the same reason as WP exists--because it is a way for people with a common characteristic to come together and share with each other. As has been said repeatedly, if you can demonstrate that straight men have a need for dedicated space, then make the case.

I am not a moderator. I retired months ago.

And I think I was quite clear. AS is a condition affecting a minority of people hence, Wrong Planet by definition is a special interest forum.

Yet, I don't think that is the real issue, either, as I explained long ago. None of this is about minorities, equality or fairness. It is about needs, unmet needs, and Alex's level of interest in using his website, his private property, to respond to them.

And you are annoyed seeing something on your screen that rubs you the wrong way. That is the issue, really; the rest is you trying to come up with a good reason you are annoyed so you can sell it to everyone else, but there isn't one that is obvious to anyone but you. I am sorry you feel that way, and I respect that you feel that way, but it isn't your call and you've lost the argument. The only thing left to suggest is to ask Alex (via the WPDiscussion forum) if he might be able to install an "ignore forum" button when he transfers everything to new software, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope for it.

Is it an aspie left wing trait to be a massive hypocrite, but not being able to see it, cause of, lack of self awareness? You should read a left wing paper, without a narrow minded view. They want to ban anyone with an opinion thats to the right. I read the daily mirror mostly, not for the political views. But it can be funny to see such hypocrisy. On one page they'll have a story about a family who've never worked, claiming housing benefits and child benefits. Then on the next page, they'll be crying about the cuts on child and house benefits. If the fact that I can see things from your side, but don't agree with you makes me narrow minded. But you refuse to see things from my side, what does that make you?

I'm the one thats abnormal, as I have a different view from the majority, quite obviously. Why are you so threatened by abnormality? You're the one jumping straight in with personal attacks. You continue to prove my point. You are saying that being gay or transexual is abnormal, nice. Political correctness has gawn mad, I don't want to blame it for all my problems. But the fact you can be racist in society if you're not white, and sexist if you're not male, is kind of annoying. Not cause I want to be racist or sexist. I just believe in things working both ways, fairly. I won't expect you to understand this. Thats bull, nothing makes you angrier than a Black or Asian person has complained about the influx of foreigners, cause it takes away your complete "wacissm" argument. I'm not threatened by things I don't understand, I welcome them :) I'm left frustrated by people who wouldn't know what double standards were or what hypocrisy was if they went and studied them on their favourite site, wikpedia, for a month straight.

i am not left wing, in fact i'm closer to center-libertarian than anything

on one page of the daily heil, they whinge on about falling standards of morals, and how "teh gays" are runing marriage, then on the other page they glorify girls in low cut tops with boob jobs and Mr z-list celebrity X's 6-hour marriage etc... and every other story is about a sodding wheelie bin and how they dont want to recycle and be selfish etc etc etc.

i do see things from your side: you dont want the lgbt forum but are not lgbt yourself; i.e. you're a bigot.

Gay people are a distinct population? You are comparing homosexuality with autism, its pretty sad that you and some others have had to resort to this. WP exists for people like us, who are abnormal from "NT's", not just cause we're not accepted, cause a lot of us are anyway. But we'd be different despite of that. People who are gay or transexual claim they are not accepted. cause "people like me" don't agree with them existing. :roll: But then again, a lot of people on here blame "NT's" for all their problems Can you see what i'm saying?
