Have you ever smelled a pair of then after a teenager has worn them in the heat here?My daughter had a pair,they were rank.We put them outside overnight and saturated them in Febreeze, they still smelled to high heaven the next day.
I've never owned a pair of those dorky ass things.I prefer sensible footwear.

I havent had a pair of Berkenstocks, but I have a pair of Clarke's that I must have stepped in something in - my cats went nuts over one of them Had to throw them out.

You can't help smell them if someone has an old pair on,they reek.Her's smelled the whole truck up on a trip to Colorado,that's why I hate them,stuck in a vehicle with that smell for days.Maybe just my sense of smell,I've sprayed deodorizer on sleeping people's socks before because they smelled bad.The socks were still on their feet,I'm not tolerating anything malodorous in the house.
I'll be dammed if I ever picked a pair up and took a whiff up close.I don't go around sniffing shoes or chewing on them,I'm not a dog.

(3) One of Clinton's last acts was to replace the Office for Protection from Research Risks (which had teeth) with the Office for Human Research Protections (which doesn't). The U of M has a pretty nasty psych-related patient abuse case against them, but so far they've kept a lid on it. OHRP will never shut them down, even if they kill people.
(4) Even unskilled Americorps positions often require two years of college. Seriously.

Large businesses have done a pretty sh*tty job policing themselves, and even government policing barely slows them down. Do you know how many corporate violations have been settled with the DOJ for significantly less than the amount of cash they illegally bilked the public out of?

It's just a boring strawman argument. It's not even worth the effort of trying to refute it. This entire thread started because of a click-bait article ripping off Buzzfeed both in style and quality of content, and the entire premise of that very article was one overlong strawman fallacy. It was tailor made to entice readers into clicking it so some "professional blogger" could get paid by the click by Town Hall.
