Why is prior pot use even relevant to the case?

It is the very definition of "frivolous". Last time I checked, 48 percent of the US population has tried marijuana.

And he may very well have been lying, BUT the evidence, testimony, and subsequent verdict say otherwise.

If we start fabricating evidence, bribing testimony, and coercing juries like you all seem to want, just remember that the same thing could be done against you of you're ever in the hot seat.

Was any of that done by George Zimmerman? Do you normally retaliate against third parties for the actions of other not affiliated with them or otherwise under their control?

You mean the same kind of understandable under the circumstances inconsistencies that the left has been using to "prove" that Zimmerman was lying?

That proves nothing. We know that Martin was on top of Zimmerman beating his face in and was shot at point blank range while leaning over Zimmerman. More likely scenario is that Martin doesn't have the top game of a BJJ blackbelt.

i am not argueing the philosophical merrits of pot smoking.i have lots of friends who smoke pot.i dont care what adults do in privacy.

trials are about legal technicalities, and technicely marajuana is illegal.if george zimmerman confronted him because he thought trayvon was smoking or selling marajuana then that negates the critical element of a civil rights trial.that george zimmerman confronted trayvon martin because he was a male black teenager.

the federal civil rights clause is not a panic button anyone can use when someone we feel was guilty gets off.you must prove behond a reasonable doubt that trayvons civil rights were violated.the federal civil rights angle can work if the circumstances are right.if zimmerman tried to handcuff or restrain trayvon for instance.

in the case of the california highway patrolman who was aquited of rape and murder the scenerio was of a GOVERMENT employee detaining a AMERICAN CITIZEN WITH CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS without just cause then raping and killing her.he used his police lights to stop her car and handcuffs to keep her from fleeing.
the feds got the state trooper on civil rights violations because he used his goverment given power to grossly abuse a citizen

Trayvon's drug use was relevant because the question was why was he profiled? Some people think it was because he was black, Zimmerman said it was because he was acting strange. If Martin was high as a kite, it might give credence Zimmerman's assertion and explain why reacted the way he did. Zimmerman's life was similarly dragged thru the mud, it's unfortunate part of cases like this. The media can be blamed as well since they purposely tried to misrepresent Zimmerman and Martin with years old photos and characterizations. In the end I don't think it made much of a difference in the case, the evidence and lack of it pretty much spoke for itself so character assassination was not really nessasary.

Yes it does. Look at the 2nd and 3rd picture. The guy is trying to get his hand to his waste, but can't do it. It is physically impossible to get a gun from your waste when someone is on top of you. Getting hold of a gun and shooting someone who is on top of you beating the crap out of you, is just a fantasy of some gunnuts. It doesn't happen in real life. Martial arts and self-defence people know that. Because they practice this sort of thing.

And there we have it; the gist of your (and others) whole argument is really about gun nuts just like I knew all along.

No it is not relevant. He had traces of THC in his system. "Too small an amount to be significant" according to the medical examiner who carried out Trayvon's autopsy. That means that it was days, maybe weeks that it had been in his system. Martin was profiled because he was black not because he was high.

You Zimmerman fanboys are grasping at straws in your attempts to justify Zimmerman murdering that kid.

Yes that is what it is about. Gunnuts who like to kill people, for any reason they feel like. And the rest of us who think that a black kid should be able to walk to 7-Eleven to buy candy without some racist nutjob shooting him.

Well, that's it then ... anything more posted in this thread would likely either repeat something that has already been said, or deviate from the intended topic.

Maybe it's time to just say, "Question asked and answered; time to move along" (or something like that) and close this thread down.

Source to martial arts professionals saying that those pictures represent the only possible street fight position according to Z testimony?

Ahem, this martial arts practicing gun not begs to differ, as all you'd have to do to access a holstered gun while someone was on top of you in that position would be to heave upward to momentarily knock them back, even assuming that is the exact position things went down in, and that Zimmerman wasn't say pinned partially on his side, or that Martin wasn't actually in the full mount position. Martin was not a trained martial artist, so there is no reason to expect that he'd be employing perfect technique in restraining Zimmerman, and all it would take would be one well timed buck of the hip to gain access to a firearm holstered at the beltline.

Also, Zimmerman owned 1 cheap 9mm pistol and an even cheaper holster for it, that hardly makes him a "gun nut", he wasn't even carrying a spare magazine that night. Zimmerman was clearly a utilitarian carrier, he bought the cheapest, smallest thing that would reliably work and be convenient to carry, and went on about his business; he didn't start a collection, compete in the shooting sports, or otherwise do anything to indicate a strong interest in firearms beyond owning the one for personal protection. IMHO, you don't acquire the "nut" label until you own enough guns to not be able to recall off hand exactly how many you have.
