There's always the option of brewing your own cup.

No, war with China would be downright idiotic.
Though if the chinese were to have a civil war, and overthrow their nasty communist gov't, I'm all for that. The taoist need to thrive again.

That is what I would ____ to see happen.

Fill in the blank. Love or hate.

I think the biggest threat to the US is China. Prove me wrong, but aren't the Chinese the ones who are buying up American bonds, ie: our debt?

What if they are? Are you suggesting that there is something sinister in their motives?

If so, I would suggest that you contact your elected representatives or perhaps our president to warn them of this evil plot. I would think that the obvious way to counter it would be to start paying off our debt though I doubt that our president or any of my elected representatives (none of which I voted for) would be interested in doing this.

If that is the case, who is the threat?

Haha, they wouldn't listen to me. I am not trying to sound paranoid. Just logical. We have to ask ourselves, why aren't they (the government) trying to pay off the debt? They keep letting it get bigger and bigger. There must be a reason? Maybe they are planning something? Maybe it's not the Chinese we need to worry about...maybe it's ourselves?

Haliphron, I don't think it's a redneck thread. I think there are legitimate questions Americans should be asking themselves. about the amount of debt.
China has a lot of influence already. As for starting a war with them, I bet most would consider it a huge mistake and would not agree it's a good idea.
But, it's okay to ask questions about our future, isn't it?

What is it with the China hatred? I might not support everything their government does, but that doesn't mean it's right to start a war which would undoubtedly lead to numerous innocent Chinese civilian deaths.
