I think you are making it too simple. Not all Christians think that way. Anybody from Sweden here? I just read that in Sweden, it was possible for homosexuals to be married in the state church.

Not to sound ugly, but Catholic/Christian biblical doctrine says homosexual conduct is sin. If a congregation teaches or practices otherwise, they are rejecting the holy text they claim to follow.

Out of the 7 sins, lust is probably the most deadliest...unless you're a man who has the hots for women....

That's not what Jesus said. He said that if you look at a woman to lust after her, you've already committed adultery in your heart, and that if you hate your brother without a cause then you've committed murder in your heart. Lust is a sin, no matter who is the object of it.

Love is completely different from lust. Love can last forever. Lust only lasts as long as your hormones drive you, and it's a really shoddy substitute for love. Lust is what the other person's body can do for you. Love is what you can give the other person.

Lust can be transformed by love, but it's smaller than love, and I know which I prefer. (Having known both of them.)

All I'm saying is, throughout Judeo/Christian societies...whether it's against the bible or not, the norm for men to lust after women has been fundementally accepted throughout faith based religions.

Maybe Jesus said that, but most christians these days are more willing to accept a man's lust for women. But women and homosexual oriented me are still looked down upon for their sexuality and it is still scorned by extremists....some of the same extremists that watch porn. Although I think society has gotten much more tolerant with women's sexuality throughout western cultures than gay men per se.

There are only a handful of verses that even mention it -- and in all of the NT ones, the words used are of uncertain meaning, and in the OT, none of the references are undeniably still in effect. So no, it is entirely possible for Christian churches to teach the acceptability of homosexuality.

Deadliest even.

I'm Gay and was raised Catholic. When I came out of the closet, my priest said I'm committing a horrible sin and all this weird stuff. Why do the people at the Catholic Church I attned treat me differently when they found out I was queer?

Pretty much answered already, few verses from the Bible, Old and New Testament condemns homosexual acts and that would be mainly why , AG's answer why in the case of Catholics, which I would think they could probably be more flexible on that if it wasn't for it, but that's a guess.

I think your lusting shouldn't be to bad, but just make sure you don't lust after jesus, that is probably a no go zone.

Catholics think that being gay is a sin because they think it is a choice....
You can tell them that being gay is not a choice until you are blue in the face.... they are just oblivious with it comes to the real world.
