There's plenty of journalists with their cameras and thesaurus to prove Israel breaking international law by building settlements on occupied territory, but I'm not gonna hijack this thread any further and turn it into a Israel vs Palestine thread.

trust me, it's a breath of fresh air to read your perspective. the anti-muslim sentiment in PPR is quite rampant here.

some people in PPR are refusing to see that not every person of the religion of islam is bad, but it is frankly preposterous to actually think that all members of a religion are all to blame for the actions of the few.

are all americans and canadians evil because we went to war and killed people where it was not warranted? how about the atrocities that some of our troops committed? or the torture chambers called abu ghraib? do these things make all north americans bad?

I'm going to go with "yes" on this one (with the exception that Canadians are lovely, not evil.)

Well, as long as you go with "yes", affirming that "all americans [are] ... evil", then I hope you don't mind the same form of opinion being expressed against the type of Muslims which hate Jewish people because Jewish people are Jewish, who hate Christians because they are Christians, etc. If that offends you please refer back to your statement in which you were seeking to bait.

Why would I be offended? I'm forming an opinion of a whole nation based on the ass-tardery of a few individuals. All Americans engage in torture, and desire to "kill em all, let god sort em out" whilst also being right-wing Christian fundamentalists. Except the black ones, who all work at McBurgerBell AND claim welfare...and the Muslim ones who are intent on overthrowing the evil empire by terrorism who also all work at McBurgerBell and claim welfare and take all the best jobs. Who else is there? Oh yeah, theres the Jewish ones who run the media that tells everyone that the blacks have taken all the McburgerBell jobs AND the presidency whilst on the welfare whilst also being racist AND over-run by Mexicans. Hate them as well.

Is that what you think I believe? The jobs that I've worked at are Carasim Coffee, Burger King, Banta, McDonald's, and Wal-Fart. Except for Banta, all of these are customer and food service jobs which is the type of work I have enjoyed most, although order picking at Banta was ok too. I don't agree with Hanotaux on this issue, nor do I think in terms of "all this" or "all that" nor do I think that any whiteguy™ other than Lt. Cmdr Data is a Superman©.... I don't particularly care for overarching generalizations, but I think that people ought to have the right to say them even if it makes them look less intelligent for it, just like your rant above does if taken literally.

Because of course I literally believe all those things, because I'm basing my suppositions on guesswork, prejudice, and whatever I was last told. Subsequently, everybody reading my post will automatically believe all of those things too, because all Americans are gullible in the extreme. Bringing it back in to line with the original postings, this is why Muslims are all trying to kill them.

I don't think your memory is too good. Most of them were hiding trying to not get killed after that happened and trying to keep a low profile.

My memory of that event is damned near perfect. The way not to get killed would have been to loudly and definitely denounce the outrage of 9/11 and show solidarity with non-Muslim Americans. This did not happen. Why. Was it fear or was it a covert agreement with the outrage? One cannot be sure.

I highly doubt that, the only thing that would have mattered to the idiots who blame all muslims and arabs is that they were or looked muslims, period.

It's a good thing there was no Million Muslim March or other mass congregation of muslims after 9/11. That would have been a catastrophe and there would probably have been casualties. It wouldn't really matter what their signs said. They could have amassed to all wave American flags and it still would have been a catastrophe. The mere fact that Muslims assembled en masse would be enough to sound the alarm for some people and they would have gathered their own "troops" to counterattack this group of Muslims. Things would have gotten very violent very fast. Keeping a low profile was safer. The muslims I know personally took to wearing American flag lapel pins as an "I'm harmless" badge. Even so, several people who either actually were muslim or looked muslim-ish were killed for the sin of being "one of them" after 9/11. That was horrible. I think there would have been many more murders of that sort if Muslims had actually congregated in a single spot to have a rally even if it was an American flag waving rally.

I completely agree. Just look at the response to Muslims wanting to build a community center near ground zero. The amount of hate out there against Muslims remains strong in the US.

Imagine what sentiments would have remained in the American population for the Japanese had they not surrendered but the war continued on. If America went to war with England or Canada, then you'd get the same attitudes in Americans for the British or Canadians as are in the middleeast for Americans now.

i don't understand hating/wanting to eradicate an entire religion of individuals for the actions of a few. but i know that hatred is alive and well in many north american communities. but it doesn't make any more sense than hating all people of christian background every time an abortion clinic is bombed. it simply does not make sense.

Do you hate any Christians who say that homosexuality is a sin? Would you hate any Muslim who says homosexuality is a sin?

I completely agree. Just look at the response to Muslims wanting to build a community center near ground zero. The amount of hate out there against Muslims remains strong in the US.

i don't understand hating/wanting to eradicate an entire religion of individuals for the actions of a few. but i know that hatred is alive and well in many north american communities. but it doesn't make any more sense than hating all people of christian background every time an abortion clinic is bombed. it simply does not make sense.

Do you hate any Christians who say that homosexuality is a sin? Would you hate any Muslim who says homosexuality is a sin?

missed the point.

not talking about sins. talking about killing.

I think you missed the point too. But alright, what about the government of Afghanistan killing off any of its citizens who convert away from Islam?

I would like to think that the American Muslim community is not a potential fifth column but I have my doubts.

I think there would have been many more murders of that sort if Muslims had actually congregated in a single spot to have a rally even if it was an American flag waving rally.

i would not hate all afghani people for that, because it would not be fair to them.

Nor should you hate all of them. Would you hate the proponents of strict adherence to Sharia Law regarding the execution of Afghani people who leave Islam?
