Richard Dawkins vs William Lane Craig

I agree with that, that is EXACTLY how I believe religion should be. I find though that after listening to Dawkins interviews, he tends to be more offensive than defensive when it comes to talking about religion. There are lots of atheists who are very respectful about their beliefs as well as the beliefs of others. Ex: Jesse Ventura is very reasonable when it comes to religion (He is an atheist last time I checked.) Maybe you've read or heard something that I haven't (which I would be open to hearing), but Dawkins really doesn't strike me as a very tolerant person. If I'm wrong I'm open to hearing otherwise.
Anyone who is idiotic in public should expect to be excoriated in public. If the religious folks who just shut the f*ck up about their religion in public we would not have a problem, would we?

As respectfully as I can put it, My problem with Dawkins is that he shoves atheism down people's throats. He is so self absorbed in his own conclusions about the world that he assumes that anyone who opposes his anti-god agenda is stupid and needs to be "re-educated". I don't care what he has to back up his arguments, all intolerant arguments are the same to me. Whether coming from the religious or non-religious community its the same garbage in a different pail. If I am in a democratic society and I feel in my heart that there is a "giant spaghetti monster" who is he as some doctor in England to tell me what to think and believe.
Doesn't democracy mean anything anymore? Doesn't freedom of religion mean anything anymore? If I'm not forcing my belief in God on other people, why can't people just respect that and leave it alone? Whether you believe in God or not, you should be allowed to believe what you please without a bunch of people throwing dirt in your face.

I pretty much love you the irony in accusing Richard Dawkins of being anti-Democratic while blasting him for speaking his mind. You're aggressive demand for unconditional respect and sympathy of religion is intolerant, as Dawkin's has never said consenting adults who practice religotry in private ought to be foreceful "re-educated" your post is also libel.
You're brand of pseudo-tolerance is tyranny.

Well I'm sorry you feel that way. But democracy is more important to me than trying to convince you otherwise. So if you want to think I'm an idiot for having my own personal beliefs that I'm not pushing on anyone, so be it. I'm sorry to hear that.

Do you know what democracy is? It is two wolves and a lamb sitting at the table and voting on what to have for supper.
Popular democracy is a polite term for Mob Rule.

Actually the wolves are a bit more subtle. When Jesus declared his follower to be sheep the clever people in power took him to heart and nowadays they control almost all the media so they get te sheep to praise the wolves. Things like the Tea Party are the result.
