Emotional reactions are never helpful. Ruveyn's morality is pretty much compatible with most people's, except for one or two stupid things most people do.

"My right to swing my fists ends at the tip of your nose" is fully supported by rational self-interest, as well as altruism, utilitarianism, and most systems of morality.

The controversial thing about ethics is not what they have in common, which no one notices, but where they differ. Then we make a huge fuss and start calling each other evil.

Actually, your right to swing your fists ends well before the tip of my nose.

You're right. Anyone who has ever had someone stick their finger an inch from one's face while chanting "not touching!" knows there is some room for interpretation.

That's not even going into the matter of the physics of swinging fists, and the difficulty of changing their trajectories or halting the motion at such close range. A man who could do that is likely to sprain himself.

I would also like to ad to my platform of political beliefs that I support the legalization of voluntary active euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide, so long as the patient requesting it is certifed as "mentally and emotionally togther" by an independent panel.

Anarcho-Communist. A cynical one, at that.

Trotskyist by affiliation, as they unfortunately happened to be the only active Socialists in the area and I felt a need to be engaged in something. Not very fitting giving my ideals, but you can't be picky.

Why? Not sure.

I don't have a wife or a child. But yeah, if you don't me and mine live and let live then you don't get to live and let live either.

I call myself a left libertarian...

Death penalty is wrong in all cases. Murder is wrong. Period. Even if the person is a serial killer, it doesn't make it right.
We would probably be in a better place with less guns. I know we have the right to defend ourselves, but guns end up in the wrong hands anyway.
The government needs to stay out of our personal lives. Let the gay couple marry, let the woman have an abortion, etc. People have their own morals. Who are we to tell others how to live?
I am neutral on affirmative action and feminism.
Healthcare, education, etc is a right to everyone. Its wrong that only "the rich" people have good healthcare and education. The government should care for us. We shouldn't have to work for our basic rights. Especially since people can't find jobs... Basically I'm a socialist... but I've been called a Marxist already.

I am a Conservative, and proud of it.

I am for the death penalty in certain cases, and I am prolife.

I'm not as right wing as Rush Limbaugh though I think he makes a lot of good points. I can't stand Ann Coulter though.
