US Officials Knew Libya attack was work of Al Qaeda 24 hrs..
Much of the media is trying to assist the Obama regime in that regard.
@ marshall
We have a dead US ambassador, because a bunch of requests for additional security went ignored.
The fact you are playing politics when there are 4 dead Americans is disgusting marshall.
To lie, one must know the truth, and that lets the US Government off.
They were pulling the Weapons of Mass Destruction out again.
We do not have a right to destroy other countries. Not even if a New York cab driver who came to America when he was three can be called an Iraqi Leader.
The pattern is coming clear, terrorists squads that attack the government to provoke a response, then citing that as reason to bomb the whole country.
True, Saddam did kill a few, and none doubt it was because they tried to kill him first. Both the Marsh Arabs and the Kurds were funded and armed to kill him, and both promised outside support. They were gamed, start the revolt and we will be right behind you, they found themselves alone and soon dead.
It was planned from outside, Saddam murders whole village!
He did, but they were set up to die for the news.
This in context of the million died in the Iran War. Which we funded.
Afganistan, Sryia, Libya, same pattern. Create a reason to invade.
If America could lie, know the truth, invading Iraq, overthrowing Saddam, would lead to Iran becoming the government of Iraq.
This is not in the best interests of America, Saudis, Israel.
It was not so good for Iraq, or the troops.
The only people who made out were war contractors.
On the GeoPolitical Front, it was a disaster, I would not vacation there, try to do business, which I could under Saddam.
Besides the dead, those who lost were the 600,000 Christians that had to flee an Islamic Religious War. They went to Sryia.
While the Saudi's might have been behind it, killing weak neighbors, sending in their religious troops, they have stirred up a hornets nest.
Russia is going to hold their port at Tarus, Iran will support Sryia, Iraq, and so will China.
While Sryia could be debated as not being an American act, Iraq, Libya, it is not to be denied, we bombed them, occupied Iraq, now Libya refuses to allow any more Americans in.
America has also been involved with Egypt, saying free elections aside, the old Military will continue to rule. There the elected government is siding with Libya, Sryia, and holding talks with Iran. It is an open door for Russia and China.
America keeps harping on Sryia is majority Sunni, but it is the most minority groups in the area. The largest group of Orthodox Christians, outside of Russia, Kurds, several Islamic minorities, who support a non religious government. Everyone knows what a Sunni takeover would mean, Civil War, Genocide.
We seem to be fighting everything we stood for, inside and out in the world. America, land of people who will bomb your grandmother, tell your elected President what powers he has, and send in terrorist teams to car bomb and start a war in your neighborhood.
Using violence to reach political ends defines Terrorism, doing so where there are no political ends is madness. America is insane.

What is wrong with bombing one's enemies? During WW2 we killed over a million civilians in air raids. That means lots of women and children died. But it was the Nazis and the Japanese who started it all so why should we regret what we did. In a war one kills one enemies and let the devil count the collateral damage.

Now ABC News is reporting on it (finally).
Earlier this week, the chair of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and another member of the committee wrote to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton listing 13 incidents leading up to the attack, ranging from IED and RPG attacks to a “posting on a pro-Gaddafi Facebook page” publicizing early morning runs taken by the late Ambassador Stevens and his security detail around Tripoli.
“Was State Department headquarters in Washington aware of all the above incidents?” they asked Secretary Clinton, requesting written responses by Oct. 8. “If not, why not? If so, what measures did the State Department take to match the level of security provided to the U.S. Mission in Libya to the level of threat?”
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/20 ... -in-libya/
Not sure a DC 3 would have made much difference but the fact that ABC News is acknowledging there was a string of violent incidents before 9/11/2012 demonstrates either the incompetitence of the Obama Administration, or they simply didn't care.
Then from CBS News:
Lt. Col. Wood has told CBS News and congressional investigators that his 16-member team and a six-member State Department elite force called a Mobile Security Deployment team left Libya in August, just one month before the Benghazi assault. Wood says that's despite the fact that US officials in Libya wanted security increased, not decreased.
Wood says he met daily with Stevens and that security was a constant challenge. There were 13 threats or attacks on western diplomats and officials in Libya in the six months leading up to the September 11 attack.
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18563_162-5 ... -diplomats
Looks like Congressman Issa was telling the truth. Also looks like Fox News was telling the truth. Also looks like the other media outlets were not doing their jobs and are reporting on this now to try to cover up the fact they've been stooges of the Obama Campaign.

Security is contracted out, Blackwater. Now all of their agents are coming out saying that one more man could have prevented this, or ten, or a hundred, at our usual thousand a day per man.
This could have been prevented by a $100 breathing mask. Maybe a flashlight.
Going in, I would have a vest, sidearm, Bio, Smoke, Tear gas mask. also in my Utility Belt, flashlight, knife, and some bandages.
First thing in the building is, this building will not withstand an attack, we will get overrun, so sand bag an inside room, for a final defensive line.
All exits must be lighted with a battery backup, it's Fire Code.
The two who got away say they lost the other two. Really? In a building, how do you lose the person who you were to protect?
Firemen train to go in a burning building and find little kids who hide under beds and in closets, and clear every room, while the building is burning around them.
It is why we train, drill, so when the worst happens we can just follow the training and respond.
The protected person dies, or something, the X-Navy Seals leave, claiming they cannot find the person they were to protect. Seals leave no one behind, even their dead.
Somehow, both manage to leave, and get to the safe house. Somehow, perhaps them screeming like little girls, they were followed. the attack continued. Again a report of two killed, Seals, but no mention if it was the same two.
As they knocked on the front door a mortor round was dropped from the roof, killing both. That seems the end of the attack.
If you hire someone to kill their boss, you are now their boss.
By Navy Tradition, "Dead men tell no tales."
The problem with buying Protection, the sellers never think you have enough, and you could have an accident. Big Tony just wants to help youse.
So lack of personal protection, a breathing mask. Lack of a building plan, marked for darkness, LED Cave lights are great, lack of a sweep the floor plan to make sure you get everyone out. This also works to discover anyone who got in.
So none of this was done, and the guards ran away.
As the only thing that happened seems rigged, and all we are getting is Terrorists! And more private contractors needed, Brought to you by the company once known as, `~.
We failed, so you need more of us is a weak message.
We Terrorists, we do like our terror, so we kicked America, so we can get on the drone list, the top 40 of Terror.
Al Qaeda leaves a trademark crater. There are a lot of explosives in Libya, The building is still standing.
The stories coming out are just stories.
Using violence to reach political ends defines Terrorism, doing so where there are no political ends is madness. America is insane.

In a declared war, but Libya never rose to the state of declared war, enemies, it was a peace keeping mission, enforcing a no fly zone. That was UN Approved.
What happened was Shock and Awe II, Air power and air defense were minor, then the attack turned to ground targets. One truck looks like another, so government, anti-government, and farmers taking their crops to market were treated the same.
Under the cover of local protests, foreign fighters were sent in to establish a religious state, who turned a local event into a civil war. Like Sryia, where peacful protests became cover for gunning down the police and army.
We are not at war with Libya, UN support was to keep it from becoming civil war. All sides in Libya were looking forward to a messy democratic election.
The prize, the National Wealth, Government jobs, were what the fight was about, it is an oil rich country, with enough assets to propose an African Bank where oil is traded in gold.
Oil being traded in dollars seems to be the leading cause of dollar support,
So to our friends in Libya, we will bomb your schools, hospitals, phone system, post office, garbage trucks, bridges, and shadows between buildings.
"To save the village, we had to destroy it."
A no fly zone, a national election, a new government, that has the support of the people. That was the UN intent.
Other interests from outside sent in jet cowboys to destroy the country.
In a bad play, Religious Terrorists were sent in to form a Saudi religious state, that only freedom loving American occupation could counter, as we make war on the Libyan people in the middle.
It is like Catholic and Black New Orleans after a hurrican, waiting for the National Guard with water and food, getting bombed, then having armed Bible Belters coming to establish a White Fundementalist State.
No matter who they supported, the best sons of the seventeen tribes joined the Libyan Army, to hold their place in the national government. Those are the people we bombed.
Each tribe also had a local self defense force, we bombed them too.
We bombed the natural next leadership of the country, and brought in a religious army. You do not want freedom, you need strict Islamic Law. They went to war with the local leaders, who were only pretenders to Islam.
Libyans just want everyone else out. They want to form their own country based on how they see things.
They have a good land, with water, oil, gas, beaches, enough income to live well. The Sufi Mystic version of Islam has a long history. They are rich enough to form an African Bank backed by Gold.
While other countries are sinking in debt, they have vast reserves of cash spread around the world, and vast reserves of oil and gas in the ground.
Bombing people is rude.
The number of attacks prior to the 9/11 attack has now gone up to 13, including the attempted assassination of the British Ambassador with an RPG.
It's ridiculous because it's a bunch of tribal group-think. Your constant blatant hypocrisy proves it. Just admit that you would only ever bash a Democratic administration. Obama's first crime is not being in your particular tribe. You look for scandals to justify the fact that you already have a knee-jerk gut-level loathing for the guy because he's not a Republican. According to you Democrats can do no right and Republicans can do no wrong. You just accept that a-priori and then go search your right-wing sources for scandals so you can justify your presupposition that Obama is "evil". People like you are disgrace to thinking conservatives. And before you get on me and whine that I just called you "stupid", note that I have not. I don't think you're "stupid". I think you're blindly biased and partisan rhetoric is like a game to you because it's exhilarating to get riled up on it.
Anyways, there is more stuff coming out:
(CBS News) The former head of a Special Forces "Site Security Team" in Libya tells CBS News that in spite of multiple pleas from himself and other U.S. security officials on the ground for "more, not less" security personnel, the State Department removed as many as 34 people from the country in the six months before a terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others.
Lt. Col. Andy Wood will appear this week at a House Oversight Committee hearing that will examine security decisions leading up to the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi.
Speaking to CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson, Wood said when he found out that his own 16-member team and a six-member State Department elite force were being pulled from Tripoli in August - about a month before the assault in Benghazi - he felt, "like we were being asked to play the piano with two fingers. There was concern amongst the entire embassy staff."

The cat is out of the bag. There are now e-mails showing President Obama knew it was NOT a spontaneous demonstration about a movie that DOES NOT exist.
I have heard USA commentators say they can't compare this to Watergate because nobody died because of Watergate.

The expected myths.
According to Libya, when all of the Americans wanted out they sent a plane, and found it was not big enough. They describe the Americans as 24 Intelligence Agents. They had no idea there were that many.
Calling it a Mission, later a Consulate, does not fit with being 100% staffed by CIA. No State Department, no USAID, and not working with the government of Libya.
So a falling out between the CIA and the Saudi backed Islamists, just like Afganistan. The Islamists have taken northern Mali, an area the size of Texas, and set up shop for Saudi style Islam.
The CIA was not invited. Questions of who was in charge were settled Saudi style. CIA infidels were used as a front, were looking only at the oil, and missed the move into Mali.
Mali is the Saudi goal, chopping off hands and feet, beheadings, real Islam, pure Wahabi Islam.
The CIA had a house in Benghazi, another as a safe house, and the Saudi troops hold something the size of Texas, and they do not have a funding problem. They hold Timbuktu, the upper Niger River, in an area we have had a long running war, our death squads hunting anti Algerian Touregs, in Mauritania, and generally ignoring borders, and killing the Independant Vote.
The Saharawi have been fighting the Moroccans for a generation, since they invaded Spanish West Africa when the Spanish pulled out. The Mauritanians took the south half, but the Saharawi made them change their mind, then Morocco took it all, but could only hold the coastal area. They are looting the fishing, mineral deposits, and oil has been discovered.
Spain says the Canary Islands were never part of Africa, so they are keeping them. It is the last battle of the Colonial era. The people of West Africa could have their freedom, but their land was given to the neighbors.
Morocco invaded, killed a lot of people, and built and earth berm down the middle of the country, covered in land mines, to keep the West Africans out of their country. They had European support, British field guns and a few million land mines, to partition the country and keep them from claiming the Canaries.
South Mali is Black, Christian, or something, and Timbuktu is old Islamic.
It really is the best location for a west African base. It is a long way from anywhere.
There has been long standing injustice, the last people subject to colonial rule, murdered, robbed of their land, driven into the desert, and they survived and got stronger. Teams of American Special Forces hunt them in the mountains, nothing offical, just training and sport.
The UN has done nothing to protect these people who lived there for a thousand years, when it was just fisheries, phosphates, and resort hotels, now oil has been discovered.
The French are sending in drones because this used to be French West Africa, and they left that oil there, and people are trying to steal it.
America has a deed to all the oil signed by the recently dead President of Mali.
Expect to hear more about Timbuktu.
Okay I think some liberals here owe me an apology:

I know liberals hate Fox News, however they are the only ones that haven't been more interested in sleeping with Obama instead of the fact the first US Ambassador in 30 years has been assassinated!
I'm stil not sure what the substantive issue you're attempting to demonstrate. Is it simply that the Administration responsible for decisions that ultimately resulting in the deaths of American public servants? I think that is very likely the case. But I don't know that proving that point advances anything.
What you have not demonstrated is whether--without the benefit of hindsight--those decisions were wrong.
When I believe that I need additional resources for the programs that I administer, I go to senior management within my Department and I seek those resources. In some cases we go to Cabinet and seek access to the fiscal framework for those resources. But those responsible can say, "No." And--to be frank--"No," should be the default response unless the person seeking the resources can make the case for why they are needed.
Now, here we have an instance where hindsight suggests that the case could have been made. But was it made? Was the request for resources alarmist, or well supported? We don't know. And more importantly, if the request had been granted, would that have made a difference? We can only speculate.

Actually visagrunt, this isn't a hindsight argument, an ambassador is considered to be a high value person putting it mildly. The fact the ambassador's life was in danger and/or missing means that the equivalent of an instant message would have been sent to the White House, the officer on duty has to verify that he/she received the message as soon as they get it. Then it is brought to the President by a real live human being.
This isn't them being drowned in a bunch of e-mails, this bypasses the clutter. They were watching what was happening in real time. The rescue team that went to the consulate, did so in DEFIANCE of orders.
We also have the fact that Hillary ordered more security prior to all of this and was overruled by Obama.
You accuse me of not having any objectivity, maybe you should look in a mirror.

No, Fox has made a concerted effort to ruin Obama's presidency.
Bill Clinton begged his wife to release information that would cost Obama the presidency? I seriously have to call that into question, as Bill Clinton has been active on the campaign trail for Obama. Especially since the President has said that despite the fact that Hilary had taken tried taking responsibility for the Ambassador's death, Obama said of himself, "the buck stops here."
Fox is much like Satan in the Bible - they use the truth to tell a lie.
