Incorrect assumption. Like many who oppose a National Health Service, you have assumed that private and public-funded healthcare are mutually exclusive. Such a service does not prevent people from opting into a private option, at either their own expense or that of their company.

Private healthcare is a multi-billion industry in the United Kingdom, despite the much-lauded (and oft-criticised) NHS.

The extremist political views that some of you crazy Americans regurgitate are both baffling and worrisome to those of us on the other side of the pond. Hyperbole =/= either fact or wisdom.
