This has long been addressed and settled. The fact it keeps rearing it's ugly head in its death throes is just plain amusing.

1. Everything that had a beginning must have a cause.
2. The universe had a beginning and so must have a cause.
3. God is the uncaused Cause that created everything.
4. It is unnecessary for God to have a cause, since God is infinite and therefore has no beginning or ending.

We know, for instance, that the universe is not infinite because we know that stars, for instance, have a life span. A few billion years is nothing against an infinite backdrop. Eventually everything that spontaneously Big-banged itself into existence should have burned out a long, LONG time ago. So whether it was the Big Bang or God batted an eyelash, it all had to have a start at some point in time relatively recently, if only as recent as a few short billion years ago.

Even if the Big Bang is counted as the starting point for the universe as we know it, the question remains what the cause is for the Big Bang, since "everything has a cause." An uncaused, infinite, personal being that exists outside of space-time is a logical conclusion for the first cause.

It doesn't have to be personal. You're just saying that because you want God to be that "uncaused cause".

I tend to agree with that... But couldn't time be infinite? And perhaps the matter that Big Banged existed infinitely? Which is incomprehensible to us, but then so is anything existing outside of time. Just a thought.

Ah okay. I was just thinking of the definition of a delusion, not its connotations. Actually looking into it now, some definitions mention mental disorder. I'd say that any false belief that one holds despite being aware of the evidence to the contrary is a kind of delusion. Almost every human would have a delusion of one kind or another, I reckon. For example, some would argue that being an optimist is to be deluded, so there's a lot of deluded people right there. It's not always a big deal or a bad thing.

Intellectually speaking, you are correct. I was more looking at it from a psychiatric perspective, rather than psychological or philosophical one.

Wrong. As Jesus was not God, he was delusional as well. That is if he ever did claim he was God. Just because the Bible says he did doesn't mean he did.

Cousin Joshua said "I and my Father are One". He also said "I am the Resurrection and the Life"

Clearly Cousin Joshua was bat sh*t crazy.

Addressed and settled by whom? The claim that 'god exists outside of space-time' is an additional extraordinary claim that has no basis in either scientific theory (entropy beginning with the birth of our universe is and will remain little more than hypothesis) or scripture.

Even assuming there are additional dimensions beyond those which we can currently perceive, there is absolutely no valid reason to believe that the cause of the universe is:

A resident of a 'higher' dimension
Sentient
Infinite
Omnipotent
Etc.

You are supporting an unknown with an unknown, yet claiming 'God' is the answer to both. This is clearly not "a logical conclusion".

If you had felt Holy Spirit you would not describe it as "the same feeling when I'm watching a very emotional movie".

I get quite deep feelings when watching such movies, I have also experienced Holy Spirit, and can report they are nothing like each other.

A nearer analogy would be if you where to say you get the same feeling when you have taken class A drugs or Morphine.

Unless you have experienced Holy Spirit, I don't think you can say its the same feeling as.......

When I first received it, it wasn't in an emotional setting what-so-ever, I was alone in my dingy room reading the most dull and boring book of the Bible, Numbers, when totally expectantly, something as pleasant as Morphine felt as if it had been injected into me.

If you look at humans it's not too far fetched they were marine mammals not too long ago, maybe even Mer-people. Otherwise we'd evolved some decent body armor.

So it's a psychological thing. You call it the Holy Spirit. Other religious/spiritual people may beg to differ.

The Gospel according to John is the least credible among the Gospel accounts.

The Gospel according to John is the least credible among the Gospel accounts.

What's really interesting about the Gospels, they were written after Jesus died by his ardent defenders concerned about the future of their Church, competing with many other organizations, threatened to be squashed out by the state. So what do they naturally do? They make outrageous claims about Jesus. Why? To attract people of course! They knew if they could get many people to join, they had a much better chance of surviving, so out comes the outlandish claims to grab that attention so people wouldn't go and join the cult of Zog or the Flying Spaghetti Monster instead because you see, these were out there beckoning membership among the masses, too. Hey why not defect and join my cult?
This is why you see these stories that mimic scripture from the old testament so closely. Sure, there's a little bit of Jesus in there. Most likely, Jesus was a guy who had this group of devoted followers and drew crowds wherever he went which got the attention of the leaders who began to view him as a threat to their power so they did away with him and since he was not a citizen of Rome, he was dealt with the same way as all other non citizens, crucifixion was how they treated all non citizens convicted of crimes. So, it became part of his myth but really it was just a disgusting, sadistic, loathsome practice by a depraved and sad species. Humans.

And there you have the origins of these claims, like Virgin birth, lineage of David, resurrection after death. Betcha the lady that tended to Jesus after he died was really his wife.

He also said that he and the Disciples are one as well but the Trinitarians dont like to dwell on that verse.
All my Bibles have Jesus claiming to be the Son of God, not God himself.

All my Bibles have Jesus claiming to be the Son of God, not God himself.

When Jesus says, "Before Abraham was I am," he would have said that in Hebrew, I AM is the Personal name of God, YHWH -- "I AM WHO AM." It is both a verbal construction of the verb haya, to be, yet modified to form a proper name. So when Jesus was saying, "Before Abraham was "I AM WHO AM," he was expressly equating himself with YHWH, the God of the Jews. This is why the Pharisees accused Jesus of "equating himself with God."
