LOL you don't get it,

The bible says its going to happen and thats a book most of America should be familiar with seeing as how we are suppose to be a Christian nation. Also this book has things that are starting to come true in it. You can't hardy deny it at this point if you sit down with it and actually try to read it. The technology that needs to exist for these things to happen exist now, if it was the 1800s then yeah those people were nuts but the end is getting noticeably closer for those with the eye to see the signs. Did you know that in recent years, almost every astrological sign mentioned in scripture towards the end has come true? Look at the pattern of blood moons, look at the freaking sky like God tells you too, its too close for comfort.

yeah I am probably stirring the pot but somebody has to say it.

I think its gonna be funny that the first thought you people think about when its all falling part is some random person on the Internet that told you to read your bibles.

Christianity is lukewarm now, we aren't serious about it and they have watered down the bible and even taken it away from some churches. Replaced with the niv and the book of mormon. I don't see how the world could have the answer staring them dead in the face and they go astray anyway. I mean seriously, you want proof of Gods word look no further then how corrupt the world is every time God leaves. From the days of Noah to the days of Sodom and Gomorrah and compare that to now, sudden the bible seems to show a pattern and it makes sense.

I'll end my rant with this, if you do think of me when disaster strikes regardless of how crazy you think I am, just remember God told you to flee into the mountains.

Revelation was written to assure the faithful who were being persecuted and slaughtered en masse by the Roman Army that one day Christianity would triumph and hosannas to Jesus would be sung in Rome. The mightiest empire in human history would one day be destroyed, and the degeneracy of Rome would give way to faith. I would recommend City of God by Augustine for the Roman (Catholic) Church's stand on the issue. Augustine was writing around AD 450, just as the Western Empire was collapsing. He argued that the Second Coming was actually the redemption of Rome, that wicked men had turned to Jesus and bent their knees and confessed that Jesus is Lord and Savior.

Mark Twain may have said that history doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes. Today we have a New Rome, the invincible American Empire with bases in 120 countries and a population more interested in Dancing With The Stars than geopolitical issues. Romans in 200 AD likely thought that Rome would never be conquered, but it was. America will fall too.

what about other things such as x-flares or rogue astronomical objects or exploding/misbehaving stars that aim lethal amounts of cosmic radiation in our direction?

Yes but Revelations was written 100 generations ago. And in every one of those 100 generations there were people like you who were convinced that Revelations was about the time in which they lived.

Pezar is basically correct that the author of Revelations was sending coded messages about his OWN time to fellow Christians who were oppressed by Rome. And most of the bizarre imagery in Revelations is actually not so bizarre. For example "the beast with seven heads" is really a reference to "the city built on seven hills" (ie Rome).
