As far as I'm concerned, you're welcome to preach against homosexuality. All you want. Hate the "sin" all you want...

...but love the "sinner."*

That means when you start preaching that God will smite us for allowing homosexuals equal rights under the human law, you've gone too far, I think. I'm going to tell you that I disagree, that I think you're being hateful, that I think you need to pray about it, that Jesus said, "Love thy neighbor as thyself."

When you start preaching that "they" shouldn't be allowed in "our" schools and apartment complexes and towns and stores and communities, you've gone too far, no doubt in my mind, and I'd hate to be you when God gets around to dealing with the motes and the planks.

When you start preaching, even between the lines, that it's OK to mock homosexuals and assault homosexuals and kill homosexuals, you've gone WAY TOO FAR. Your behavior now bears fruit that is the opposite of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, patience, gentleness, and self-control. That means you are in the service and thrall of powers and principalities that serve Satan, and a threat to the fabric of society. At that point, you're shouting "FIRE!!" in a crowded theater. Inciting a riot is not protected by the First Amendment.

*Words like "sin" and "sinner" are in quotes because I respect that the sinfulness of homosexuality is the doctrine of Abrahamic religions. Personally, I DON'T KNOW. I prayed about it, and the answer I got was, in effect, "Girl, you ain't gay and you ain't God. It's no business of yours. Treat people decent, mind your own sins, and let Me worry about that." Good enough for me, Lord.

What was Paul doing when he argued for accepting the (uncircumsized) gentiles as Christians and for allowing women to attend religious services even though both were seen as unclean in such services?

This is why Christianity sucks and the Bible is garbage.

They are literally trying to destroy human nature.

The Christian church has actually been a pillar of civility over the years in place of degradation. It has the been the church that holds society in place and in tact. People blame religion for everything. Without religion, we would still have wars, murders, thievery, rape, and other horrific offences in humanity.

Has anyone in Canada actually been prosecuted under this law? Are you able to provide the exact wording of this law? I'm sure you've got a case to make.

Who the Hell do you think you are? Why do you get to label someone else's happiness as "filth"?

No it hasn't.

Societies existed long before Christianity.

Muslims worship the same Abrahamic god that you worship. "Allah" is just the Arabic name for that God.

Perhaps Trump should ban Frenchies from America. After all, they worship "mon deu".

This whole thread is a tidal wave of baffling ignorance.

I don't think that people are prevented from preaching in the US. I have the right to disagree.

You could argue however that the conflation between religious an cultural rites and legal rights send the wrong message. I'm for the abolition of legal marriage. That if anything would protect religious freedom by separating church and state.

"The Church" is not monolithic and wasn't even before the Reformation. It is a choice (at least in adulthood).

Also you could argue that the concept of "protected class" while had good intentions in the wake of the civil rights movement, as intended to protect rights has the potential to contraindicate that effort.

I do think the contract law should apply, businesses have and obligations to fulfill prior commitments. However if company could refuse social conservative lifestyle and views then the reverse to apply.

There's a portion of Christians who are convinced that the prophet Mo' was the antichrist. Even the (adopted) symbol used by the Church of Satan, the sigil of Baphomet, is named after a deformed variation of the name Mahomet/Muhammad. (Originally the symbol and name were associated with the Knights Templar.) There's not much sense in making a reasonable argument against an inherently unreasonable position that's based on cultist faith and uninformed by any fact.

And the OP has made any number of baseless assertions without providing a single scrap of evidence, not even a woefully underinformed YouTube screed like one would expect. OP, you say in Canada and Australia priests have been prevented from preaching against homosexuality--where is your evidence for this assertion? Either provide some or stop making pointless threads like this.

Yes, that's true. It isn't just homosexuality that is condemned, but ALL forms of sexuality that takes place outside of traditional marriage. St. Paul goes even further and recommends that those who are single remain so, in order to focus on the more important things in life.

I don't know about Canada, but recently (about 3 or so years ago) a priest in Tasmania got into trouble because he did exactly this. I don't have the details with me now, and would have to look it up (typing in the words, "Priest in Tasmania in Trouble for Condemning Homosexuality" doesn't help much).

Yes, this isn't much to go on, and I've forgotten most of the details, but I DO recall that this actually happened.

No they do NOT! What blasphemous nonsense! "Allah" may be the word they use for "God", but what they worship is false and evil. DO try to get your facts straight before you use the keyboard, otherwise you just might end up embarrassing yourself.

Those aren't facts...

That is your opinion about a different religion than yours.
