Of course they would.

Though Trump himself wouldnt. He probably sees himself as martyr.

Because it is extremely offensive to a minority group here who may be right wing, and in a sense this is telling them it is okay to mock them and who they believe in. Very, very bad taste. Doesn't anybody want to heal the rift of intolerance? Trump has gone, there is no need to perpetuate the political rift here any more. This post may "fit" the rules but it is still unsuitable.
Clear as day, no ambiguity whatsoever.
One person's opinion does not a consensus make.

There are editorial cartoons that depict Mr. Trump nailing himself to a cross, so yours is not a unique opinion.

Teach51's opinion is one person's opinion. Her opinion was clearly stated so there was no need for another posters to try to re-interpret it as something else.

I don't agree with Teach51's criticism but it was very clearly worded; the Buddha thing wasn't the thing that Teach51 was objecting to so it's not right for anyone to insist the objection was over anything but what she explicitly said it was.

None of us like when our words or opinions are radically twisted beyond what was stated so we should all make an effort to not to that to each other.

I'm not meaning to suggest you meant harm, I don't think I've ever seen you appear malicious. I'm sure you've experienced what I pointed out here though and didn't appreciate it when you were who it happened to.

I'm not suggesting it was a moral transgression, I was just (literally) pointing out hey, that's not what was said, Teach said things clearly and that's not what was said.

If you raised that same opinion as your own reason to consider that it might be offensive I wouldn't have had anything to make a fuss about.

I think Teach's point was that, perhaps, we should stop pushing people's buttons, regardless of what side of the political fence they happen to fall.

The OP's post was immature and asinine, specifically designed to shove it in Trump supporters faces. You can't get more emotionally arrested than that. This is why this site has become so toxic. And no amount of pushing the narrative that only bad people are being driven away will work. Most of us know that's not the case.

The mob mentality on this site is truly revolting.

How was it twisted?

She made it clear that mocking Trump is discriminating the minority here and mocking them for their beliefs.

I figured Kraftie meant Trump makes himself a target to ridicule and being made fun of and be criticized, not what Teach said.

Really? People are allowed to criticize Trump until he joins here as a member. He he is a public figure, was the president so he will be talked about a lot. Don't forget there was lot of anti Obama posts here too when he was president. People are free to cristize him as well. I never once saw it as taking a dig at Obama supporters.

People are allowed to post all kinds of s**t as long as it's not directly addressed to a member. That's not the point. The point is this is an autism support site.

Perhaps we might want to nurture an atmosphere that is less polemic. It will be far more productive in bridging poltical and cultural gaps.

I'm just glad Trump was gotten rid of.

The most important thing----is to get shots in people's arms, and allow the nation to get back to normal.

And get everybody in the WORLD vaccinated......let's stop being such a nationalistic nation.

And to stop being political about COVID.

I posted those images from a Newsweek article (and a link to that article) because I thought it was funny.

Sorry if you feel triggered.

Yes, the Chinese are really doing this.  I am not making it up; go ahead and read the Newsweek article.
