BS. I argued exactly what Macbeth said. It's just that your selective reading skills won't let you see it. Yeah, that's right, purposely pick which person you will talk to while others who argue the same view get a cyber-punch in the mouth for having the guts to voice their opinions. If that's your game, then you are in denial.
And with that, I shall say that Macbeth, myself and the rest are right, and you need a huge history lesson yourself.
Good night.

I think that might be my old school britishness coming across as being politeness lol. We did make some of the same points, maybe its just strategic swearword placement that changes the tone?
The way some people argue and post here could make Jesus start punching people sometimes. I cant blame people for getting wound up and irate. Obtuse belligerence in the face of a difference of opinion is just to be expected. Said it before.. we're aspies... we're all RIGHT.. its just a matter of what degree of right we are. Some are more right than others, and usually at different times.
Theres only a handful of things that really do piss me off in these debates. One is falling back on internet convention.
"Oh look, youve mentioned hitler, I'm calling you out with whatever-the-fuck-that-guys-called law, rather than answer you with reasoned argument." That sort of s**t. Its not big, its not clever, and it just makes you look like a smartass who cant actually argue their way out of a sack. Same goes for Ad hominem, Strawmen, all those other excuses why a poster doesnt have to think of a proper answer.
One liner abuses in response to long, well thought out posts.. Theres nothing as irritating as spending time finding links and phrasing phrases, only to get. "you're a twat." in response. Thats exactly the sort of behaviour that IRL would get you punched square in the face. Its rude, so dont do it. Read the posts, answer them with brilliant wit or whatever, but dont act like you're two.
Confusing opinion with lifestyle, and making assumptions. "You dont agree with me on this so you must be an (insert name)" End of the day, the only person on here who can claim to know me is LadyMacbeth, and she does, very well. So theres no point making assumptions about what I know, or what experiences i have, or what I might be able to add to a convo. Its rude and arrogant to say "you dont know anything about this n that subject because you're "british/old/fat/thin/young/gay/straight/christian/muslim" mostly cause no-one knows if we are, or what we are. (yes I know I said i dont like Ad Hominem. I was referring to the art of saying "Thats ad hominem" and nothing else as a response, not the act of actually making unfounded personal attacks.)
Americans.
What would Jesus do? He's take you all outside, kick ten bells of f**k out of you and tell you all to not act like knobs. Probably.
ps: I just said americans to wind you up. .

I know. You wouldn't settle for less.
Just as in real life, I'm one hell of an
ass, and can't control my temper.
But, we aren't in real life here, and
one does have to try and be civil, according
to the rules of where one is.
I think that might be my old school britishness coming across as being politeness lol. We did make some of the same points, maybe its just strategic swearword placement that changes the tone?
I don't believe that you resorted to name calling
nor to implied personal threats.
Expected, yes. But not tolerable, once it crosses a
certain undefinable line. He wasn't the only one doing
so.
Just another one of those PPR moments I suppose. Touchy subjects, tempers flare, e-pint glasses fly, e-tables get broke, and suddenly someone is next to the bar menacing people with a broken milk carton. (Anyone know what film that reference came from, cause if you do you're a memory genius? )
If it were a real bar situation, someone would get cut up, but at the end of the day, after the smoke of battle has cleared, we can all agree that an interesting time was had by all.
Observations learned? TCO drops his swear-quotient by about 50%, and keeps in mind some people are just annoying and will never agree. Snake321 gives up on starting "bitching about other user" threads, grasps the term "open-minded" a bit better, and as a passing note, maybe posts several ideas in one post, not a whole page full of lines? If only to save space.)
Failing that, we get a millionare benefactor, he pays for us all to meet up somewhere neutral, we hand out the knives and sharp sticks, and when THAT dust settles, whoever isnt bleeding on the floor and dead is the one who is right. Its just as likely as people agreeing on here. ![]()
