Zimmerman has received death threats. There's a slight difference between not liking somebody and threatening his life. Do I really have to point that out?

So did OJ (from white people), so did Casey Anthony (from angry women probably. lol).

There are crackpots around. Welcome to Earth.

So you're justifying thousands of people making death threats here because some other people, in other place, 20 years ago, did.

Well, this is your choice, be my guest.

But after justifying death threats, please, stop giving lectures about how morally wrong was Z profiling a guy as suspicious, calling the police and checking the backstreet.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said. You are really, really bright. Good job mate. And after all of the effort you put into understanding my comments. Well done.

Good thing they didnt make any sudden moves. George Zimmerman, freelance cop. What could go wrong? IIRC, after Tom Cruise pulled his couch jumping bit on tv he was rescuing someone every couple of months. I think he wrestled more bears than Putin. Wake me when Zim wrestles his first bear.

(CNN) -- Four days after he was acquitted of murder, George Zimmerman stepped out of seclusion to help a family get out of an overturned vehicle in Florida, authorities said.

Zimmerman and another man helped four people get out of an SUV that had overturned Wednesday evening in Sanford -- the same community where the former neighborhood watch volunteer fatally shot teenager Trayvon Martin in 2012 -- Seminole County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Heather Smith said.

Authorities were called after the SUV went off the road and rolled over in the area of Interstate 4 and State Road 46. By the time a deputy arrived, Zimmerman and another man already had helped the two adults and two children out of the vehicle, Smith said.

Zimmerman did not witness the crash, and he left after making contact with the deputy, Smith said. No injuries were reported.

Zimmerman has been out of the public eye since a jury acquitted him of second degree murder on July 13.

I found this interesting and although I am hesitant to employ any pop-psychology, I think Zimmerman is going to try to be a hero in any situation that presents itself. Maybe he's just that kind of guy, but it is a little soon for him to be in a situation like this. I don't think we've heard the last of him.

Suddenly finding yourself a first responder in a traffic accident isn't something you plan, it just happens.
It happened to me once on a freeway when someone found out the hard way that a pickup could indeed fly if you have a front tire blow out at 100+ MPH.

But he wasn't there when the accident happened. He came upon it. Maybe just an odd coincidence.

That's what I meant. He was obviously one of the first ones on the scene before emergency services.

A lot of people want to demonize Zimmerman but he honestly seems like a good guy who cares a lot about helping people, he isn't the monster some people want him to be. The way the media portrayed him is pretty sickening, they try to destroy people.

I agree that the verdict was fair, but I just can't see getting on the Zimmerman bandwagon. He made some serious errors in judgement and seems to have a predilection for making himself important in emergency situations which may be unhealthy.

Was this family black?

I'm betting he pulled them out so he could get a better shot at them.

Good thing the deputies showed up in time. :P

Did you miss his prior history of violence? Two court cases?

I can dig even deeper, if you'd like... Since people have no reservations about introducing frivolous information about Trayvon Martin, then it would be quite fair for me to claim that George Zimmerman was fired from a security job for being too aggressive towards patrons, throwing around a female patron to the point where she twisted her ankle. Considering how easily people in this thread are prepared to consider claims against Trayvon Martin as *fact*, I am sure that *no one* would ever challenge this account, right?

Last time I checked, only the arrest for assaulting an officer.

But your claim that Zimmerman "seems like a good guy who cares a lot about helping people" isn't exactly court room material either, now is it? If this is your claim, then I consider myself well within my rights to present counter-claims that would not stand up in court.

Zimmerman is not being demonized if he actually *has* a bad character, and his record - unlikely that of Trayvon Martin - is one of *consistent* aggressive behaviour. And we haven't even gotten to his MySpace statements yet...

Jesus, this guy just can't win with you people. Would you rather the headline read "George Zimmerman ignores car crash victims to avoid speculations about his 'hero complex'"?

For a guy who likes to present himself as a dispassionate intellectual type, you seem to be engaging in a lot of "the other monkeys are flinging poo so I'm going to too" behavior lately. It's a tad undignified...

I know everything you're talking about and most it was blown wildly out of proportion by people with agendas, certainly nothing that can be construed as a 'history of violence'. There has been way more of misrepresentation of Zimmerman than there has been Martin, that's a fact and not an opinion.

Yes blown out of proportion for example the 911 call that say "I think he is up to no good..." then cuts out and cuts back in to say "he's black" yeah GGPViper is right the media is right Zimmerman is a BAD character! s**t the same media that demonized him during trials are praising him as a hero. You want to know why? The media JUST WANTS YOUR MONEY AND ATTENTION!
