Soyuz spaceships remain docked to ISS all the time the crew is there.

Important discussion about what's really going on in Mariupol.

^ I saw the guy and thought "oh, no, another American westplaining us our own experience..."

A nice surprise. He's actually an American trying to explain things his fellow Americans are likely not to understand because the last time they had a full-scale war on their own soil was in 1860s.
So, probably worth listening to if someone wonders why Ukrainians are making some choices the way they are.

Is that like another Australian ausplaining the American experience?  If so, the pain is mutual.

It's a hard spelling to remember.

It's Mariupol in Roman letters. I'm not sure how to spell it in Cyrillic.

Indeed....the people there certainly need your prayers.

I had to quote that post above to see the YouTube link to copy. It’s just blank for me. I wonder if YouTube vids posted don’t show up on iPhone ?? Anyways, about to listen to it - Beau of the 5th is one of the commentators I follow on Facebook watch. Another really good one that’s followed by quite a few Europeans is David Pakman. I think you’d like him.

Yes, just as annoying.
But this particular guy turned out not to be one of them.

Heh - part of why he’s very appealing. FYI he’s a high school History teacher, I believe. Also, I think he recently moved states in protest of some bs state law that would have restricted his ability to teach facts to students - can’t recall the particulars. But overall he’s a very solid dude. 8)

I cannot begin to tell you how big a thing this loss is for Rurrian forces.

Ukraine now has a whole lot of political leverage to get MIG-29's and SAM's from NATO, whatever the De-escalation factions in DC wants.

The DoD, CIA and NSA have collective boners the size of a Trident submarine thinking about getting their hands on this bit of Russian kit.

It is a piece of equipment that transmits radio energy into NATO & US flying radar command posts antenna's to prevent those command posts from directing NATO/US fighters to control a piece of sky.

Having it tells Western powers a great deal about what Russia knows about those command post radar planes.

If Ukraine trades for it, the captive gear also lets the US/NATO do live testing to develop tactics and technology to negate any advantage Russia hoped to get from the system

Short form: Easy air superiority vs Russia for the next 10 years
End

^that's cool.

I wonder if putin is actually going to start killing Russian citizens at home who don't support the war? I gave some nutjob full nazi speech about crushing those people like bugs.

The powerful folks in Russia might just do away with putin before he can do any more damage to their money & power machines.
