I'm glad someone kinda gets what I was suggesting. It was just something I was thinking about one day, not something that I have a "belief" in. The more that I thought about it, the more hellish it became though. A world where you live forever but everyone you know and love dies, including children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grand...............................
Of course they are still alive, just not in your world.

I understood the philosophy you're getting at. It's just that I'm the One so you can't really lay claim to that while I'm around. At least not effectively from where I'm standing.

In regards to death, that death is the irreversible termination of the biological functions that define a living organism seems the most likely explanation.

I agree, it is most likely. But assuming that we live in a continuum of multiple parallel universes that are interconnected and this body we perceive in this universe is merely a cross section of a larger number of universes also of four dimensions there is the very unlikely but not impossible situation that the consciousness we possess adheres to the part of us in another one of these interconnected universes. I see this as exceedingly doubtful but not impossible. What makes me suspicious of our existence in these familiar four dimensions id that I have not gotten (as I mentioned before at this site) an explanation of why we perceive time from moment to moment as we seem to proceed through time. This is a total mystery to me ad most people don't even seem to be aware of it. And that it offends you is one of the oddest reactions I have come across.
