Please if you don not agree with me that most Muslims detest this behaviour, please do not attack me personally. I have had my say on this subject. I know most people usually only see Muslims as bad, therefore I stood up to tell you that most are not.

The depictions you made of western society did nothing apart from provoking them.

Humanity is humanity. Regardless of what part of the world you belong to, or what culture you follow, you're all the same. Religion only reforms mankind (to a certain level) depending on what day and age it was revealed. It bears no relevance anymore if it's a cause of conflict.

I must mention that I know some people of the Garo tribe from the North-East of India, one of them who's a close friend of mine. They're a matriachal society, the first I've seen where the women control the men. In fact, the women inherit all the property (being an agricultural society, that's a very powerful bonus), the family name given to the child is of the woman's, and the female chooses her husband. Her choice is absolutely binding.

Of course, while the women had all these rights, the men traditionally were warriors - not the weaklings you might think they were. They were head-hunters, fierce warriors who remained undefeated until the British arrived with their guns and cannons.

There's an Indian lineage like that in the south called Nayar that does the same stuff, according to my teacher who went there before this semester. <.<

They also have a deal with a brahman-class family of which i can't remember the name =.= . Let's just say that the first-born of that lineage is the only one who can marry (at least, within his lineage) and all subsequent brothers must try their luck at the Nayar household, they do have a bit more success than Nayar men, being upper caste brahmans. <.<

Oh and ruveyn, i should tell you that following a delightful conference regarding Hassidim jews in Montreal, they treat their women no less better than the muslims (3 commandments of the women are : 1) marry, 2) give birth, 3) tend to the house and never leave the house, etc. ). Explanations? ^.-

Indeed Phil, the state of Kerela is the only other place in India where a Matriachal society is common. I must also point out that Kerela is the most literate state in India, thanks to the power of women over the household.

ruveyn is Jewish only on the grounds that the Torah states 'A Jew is a person whose mother is a Jew'. Otherwise, he dislikes the faith.

The Jews themselves, aside from those orthodox law givers in Israel, are not definite as to what defines a Jew. There is a strong cultural element both within and beyond religion and ruveyn seems very Jewish from a cultural standpoint. Although I qualify as a Jew from the point of female descent my religious affiliation is non-existent and I have little if any culture in my background.

There is an interesting article about the Zionist philosophy and its legal application to eliminate anyone not "Jewish" from Israeli citizenship and its relation to the history of eugenics in the USA. http://www.counterpunch.org/klein04122010.html

My fiancee's mother is Jewish, so in the same sense that you and ruveyn are Jewish so is my fiancee. Jacklyn is also a Christian, and I'm sure that irks you and ruveyn.

I cannot speak for ruveyn but whatever people call themselves evokes absolutely no emotional response from me.

So, do you think of yourself as a Vulcan or a V?

Actually, after spending time here at this site and being observant as to the general behavior of humanity I feel rather close to my companion sparrow who displays a good deal more good sense than my fellow humans and seems far more adept at whistling creatively.

You just shouldn't ignore such things, It lets them think what they want with no alternative in sight.

Although I spend a good deal of time with my sparrow and pay close attention to his whistles I really cannot testify as to what goes on in his mind.

Ahaa! You know! Now that we have established you are not a parakeet it seems fairly definite you have the mind of a sparrow.

I'd rather think the mind of a cockatiel, except 700 times the volume.

But there was just an update to the story:

Quote:
SHUEBA, Yemen (AP) -- A 13-year-old Yemeni child bride who bled to death shortly after marriage was tied down and forced to have sex by her husband, according to interviews with the child's mother, police and medical reports.

The girl's mother, Nijma Ahmed, 50, told the Associated Press that before her daughter lost consciousness, she said that her husband had tied her up and forced himself on her. ''She looked like she was butchered,'' she said about her daughter's injuries.

That just isn't right. Hopefully the guy has been cut into pieces for what he did? I suppose justice is too much to hope for though. This world thrives off of injustice.

And you feel cockatiels are no different from sparrows? I doubt that.Unless you are a cockatiel with a sparrow mother and that genetic line seems very doubtful. Since crows are reputed to have displayed intellect equivalent to chimpanzees I doubt that volume of brain tissue plays much part in differences. Although I must admit I never saw a crow peel a banana.

Would you mind stopping this practice of yours? Do you just not notice that you are writing in my quotation or are you dumb enough to think you're fooling anyone by hiding your text among the words of others?
