I have to keep correcting the dialogue: Kucinich is a leftist. Not a far-leftist. Obama is center-right. The problem is that the political gauge is so messed up here thanks to the media's relentless pursuit of hyper sensationalism and a strict abhorring of the actual left.

It's a 1984 semantics game: Center is "left, Left is "far-left", Far-Right is "right", and Fascists are "tea partiers".

The rest of the world thinks of the country as a far right country that occasionally makes a move toward centrism before swinging even harder to the right.

If there was a rational argument in there somewhere, I missed it. I saw plenty of nasty insinuations, insults, conclusory statements, and plain belligerence.

I dont think it's worth my time to try and and refute arguments point-by-point and do hours worth of internet research to debunk factual inaccuracies. I also don't feel it's worthwhile to try and rationally argue with racists and people who harbor hate for people less fortunate than they are. I never claimed that you belong to the later group but there are other members participating in this forum who clearly do. I just don't see the point in rationally debating people who seem to lack a conscience. There's no convincing or enlightenment on either side when there's no common moral ground to even begin with.

There are certain other members who I'm not going to mention by name who are my main target. More decent people such as yourself are merely collateral damage. I wouldn't mind having a more civil discussion with people like you but I just don't have the energy or motivation at this point.

I meant in terms of American politics, he's a far leftist. In terms of world politics, you're right, he is a centrist.

Why? I pretty much never see liberals offer up their own sources for their arguements.......... Besides the occasional biased 'sociology' study........ apart from that though, nothing really to corroborate their endless ranting.

Why is the burden of proof always on the conservative around these parts?

Also, when the issues are on basic principles there's nothing to "debate". I simply find your values and attitude abhorrent. You give logical arguments I'll debate them. Otherwise there's nothing to do.

Please, liberals have no right to complain about Conservatives bashing Obama(per this topic,) after 8 years of constant lambasting of Bush as a borderline-special-child, and not to mention the similar level of bashing directed against successful state governor Sarah Palin.

To say that spreading 'factually innaccurate memes' is purely a conservative preserve, or that Conservatives are the only ones unfairly trashing politicians is absolute nonsense.

How exactly was Bush not a "borderline-special-child"? Have you even listened to any of his speeches before? He doesn't even know how to put together a grammatically-correct sentence.

And Palin made herself into a laughingstock by acting like an immature child every time the media made fun of her. If she hadn't thrown all of those hissy fits, and if she had actually studied up on politics before accepting McCain's invitation to be his VP candidate, she probably wouldn't have been made fun of at all.

I'll agree with Hanotaux that factually innaccurate memes aren't made only by conservatives, but let's just say they're a bit more..."resilient" to accept the truth when the facts are presented to them, or debunking them in a manner that does not involve "shooting the messenger" (personnal attacks).
