Lots of people don't know anything about guns. At least he asked the question so he could find out the answer. Now he's one step closer to understanding why the whole "assault weapon ban" is just idiotic political posturing.

Read more of LKL's gun hater posts then come back and talk to me.

Sure, read more of my posts and you'll figure out that I'm not a "gun-hater," as the gun-nuts like to call anyone who is for sensible gun control, nor do I want to "ban guns," as they will also claim.

So, does anyone know for sure what type of gun was actually used by this woman? We know that it was small enough to fit under her mattress, and it sounds from the story like she only fired one shot.

It is obvious you do not live in Camden NJ. By the way the Camden police force no longer exists. It is now protected by the N.J. State police.

Actually, its county police

And when that "sensible gun control" fails to yield the desired results (and it will fail) then what?

Assuming that it actually happens without enough loopholes to be meaningless, I'll cross that bridge when and if I come upon it.

What about the large faction in the gun control lobby that's never possible to satisfy? Even the New York legislature didn't get their wishlist!

I'll answer it: More gun control which will continue to fail until we're down to registering slingshots.

Also, what's wrong with dark alleys? Perfect for cutting time walking about town. :?
Perfect places to get jumped mugged at knifepoint shot or stabbed by thugs not to mention raped! You wouldnt want to walk through these neigborhoods without a gun! Some neighborhoods even cops avoid unless having a whole fleet to do occasional raids!

People who live in sissified pinko welfare states don't understand. America is the land of rugged individualism and survival of the fittest. Violence is how the that game plays out in the ghettos. It's called eat or be eaten, dog eat dog. Selling drugs and being a violent gang banger is a valid career path. Banning guns isn't going to do a thing about that.

Most of the people living in ghettos are on some form of public assistance. Ghettos are where the HUD projects are. The people living in these areas are housed, fed and treated by the government, and they show their gratitude with senseless acts of violence. My ancestors lived in ghettos, and they weren't gang bangers and rapists. It's just the way some people choose to live. Banning guns and increasing transfer payments isn't going to solve the problem.

Ryan Frederick did this in Chesapeake a few years ago. I think he's still in prison. For shame.

You're right, Most of the people in ghettos aren't on some form of public assistance. But if they were, they wouldn't shoot each other.
