I am an Eisenhower liberal. Today he would be considered far left. Reagan would never be nominated by the Republican party because he was too far left!! ! I am not anti-capitalist. Some of my views can be described as libertarian.
Unfortunately, the elite (inherited wealth) Republicans have taken over the Republican party. Instead of personal initiative being rewarded the party now advocates rewarding only those that bet on (with their inherited wealth, undeserved genetic welfare) the creativity and work of others. For example, it is rare that an inventor is adequately rewarded. His invention is owned by the international corporation he works for. We no longer have a work ethic that rewards innovation and hard work. We have a gambler's ethic.
When work and creativity are no longer rewarded. And when only gambling is rewarded our economy suffers. That is what happened. Only a sheeple believes that the poor created our current financial mess.
Please tell me why a hedge fund manager should be rewarded more then someone that actually contributes to the wealth of my country!

The problem, IMO, is disunity, not national governments. As long as the current system of sovereign nation states continues, the problems will worsen. We need a world government, and a new world order, not the rotting world we see around us today.

I've known lots of liberals but I don't have an exact count.
Do my parents count as two? My mother is an empty headed liberal if there ever was one. The old man was a liberal (with a mean streak) except on the rare day when we felt like being a conservative (also with a mean streak). I know a few liberals at work and have known individual liberals all my life. I was one myself up to about 14 then I matured enough. I still don't consider myself to be all that mature, and neither does anyone else, but I'm at least mature enough not to be a liberal.

And, no, I don't read conservative blogs and never have. I became a conservative and remain one without anyones help.
