Because the views of Scalia is so much out of sync with US society that it would be difficult even for many GOP senators to support a nomination of a Justice with a similar outlook.

We are talking about a person who has literally stated that he doesn't care about executing innocent individuals (and has joined opinions preventing post-conviction DNA tests), who doesn't believe that the 14th amendment protects against sexual discrimination, and who basically ignores the Establishment Clause of the 1st Amendment...

the right has been, since 1987, itching to put another infernal bork in there, they won't give up until they succeed. once their bork is in there, it will make scalia seem like an angel.

I wouldn't put it past him. It's just a gut feeling of mine but I don't think we'll know the full extent of the damage his presidency has done until after he's long gone. His biggest accomplishment may end up being that his ineffectiveness in office will help a republican get elected as his successor.

I wish to raise them by me not by a government bureaucrat. i will never send them to government warehouse schools. They will get the best private education that I can give them.

If that's what you feel is best for your children, then fine. I, on the other hand, have no problem with the public school system, as my daughter is autistic and she is provided with an excellent special education.

Ever notice how it's not okay around here to continually talk sh*t about various groups, on the theory that generalizing is wrong and we shouldn't make others uncomfortable, but it's perfectly alright to continually bash conservatives to their faces, even if you're too cowardly to directly address them? Kinda like walking into a synagogue and going on about thieving Jews while claiming you didn't insult anyone personally, so it's not wrong.
