Perhaps the question should be rephrased: Why is being gay right? Anyone want to give that a try?

Because it is pleasure with no pain.

In Ancient Greek Times, relation ships between a man and a women were purely physical
while between two men it was romantic.

It is right also because this day in age with overpopulation we no longer need to
"go forth and multiply."

There many physiological benefits to sex in general, and so homosexual sex will also have benefits.

Finally, watching two lesbians going at it is hot.
I don't watch two men but I accept it and will congratulate them for having courage.

people can be gay if they want. it's like saying people can't hold a certain job, or they're not allowed to sing if they're tone deaf, or they can't wear glasses if they happen to be going blind. we're just the way we are, and if a gay person is content with how he/she is, then i'd just let them be. people have a right to be who they want. if a person understands who they are then that is just wonderful!

in reality, no one is perfect, no one is normal. we all have weird little qualities about ourselves that set us apart, and this fact is just awesome.

how would you feel if everyone were the same? don't know about you, but i think that would suck, honestly.

For those who wanted something about the biological nature of being gay, here's an article for you:

Right or wrong on the matters of "gay" or "not gay' isnt for me to decide. I have had several male friends that are not straight. I enjoyed their company, as I did the ones that were straight. I think that people are against what they dont understand. And if you want to get all bibilical, well, I believe that it says someplace in the "good book" that its not our place to judge anyhow. And isnt God supposed to be all forgiving? Why would he forgive some things and not others? If homosexuality was that bad why wasnt it listed as one of the 10 comandments?

Is it wrong to be happy?

If you lived in th 20's, were you wrong to have lived?

And yes. This goes to the heart of the question. There is no sarcasm here.

I believe the majority of people who are gay involves a biological factor. There are some(the minioty) who've had bad luck with women there entire lives. In these cases environmental factor played a crucial role.

I don't see how being gay could possibly be perceived as wrong. I think that if someone believes it is wrong because it says so in the Bible, that is ridiculous. The Bible has been around a couple THOUSAND years that has been translated countless times. Don't believe everything you read, even if it's supposedly the word of God (which sounds bogus to me as well.) Most of the stuff in the Bible isn't meant to be taken literally anyway. The Bible is a weak argument.

Note: This is not meant to offend any Christians who practice their religion.

If you wanna argue that two people of the same sex can't make a baby, and so it must be wrong, that's another weak argument. The world is overpopulated, so we NEED gay people. True, there are some lesbians that get inseminated, but since their partner is considered "the man" in the relationship, it still keeps the population down. You'll rarely hear about both partners getting pregnant. Homosexual couples are also likely to not have children (because they know their children will have difficult lives), and many also adopt, giving children homes.

Some people may just think it's gross, which is also a weak argument. If it's someone else's life, you shouldn't be concerned with it.

I do not see how loving someone regardless of their gender can be wrong. It's ridiculous. Gays should be allowed to marry everywhere.

From my religious standpoint, I think it is wrong to be gay, yet I can't and don't want to stop from people being gay at all. Everyone makes choices in the world, and to some people it could be a good choice, and to others it may seem like a bad choice all together (and everyone has an opinion). It's not my job nor is it a duty to stop all people from being gay; I think it's wrong, but it's not my part to stop all choices that seem wrong to me, and to stand in the way at that.

Bland-Of course, homosexuality is wrong. Observe nature. It's a no-brainer.

Ok, I just skim-read this forum, and here's what I'm thinking -
Right at the start, someone (think it was Sean) used the whole "There's nothing biologically productive about gay people so they're evil", and it popped up again recently, and I came up with something.
Does this mean that people who are infertile are evil too, hated by god, etc?
Because if they are, thats a great new argument against nuclear power! Working in a nuclear power plant makes you infertile! GOD HATES YOU!
And if they aren't, people should really stop using that as an argument against homosexuality, you know? Otherwise we've got a nice big hypocrisy on our hand, one-rule-for-them-one-rule-for-us stuff. And hey, does anyone representing the religious argument against homosexuality wanna get caught up arguing what makes *that* right?

...Human rights laws should make it kinda hard

Looks to me like those of us who KNOW that homosexuality is not morally wrong have won this debate. We have a lot more (and better) reasons to back up our claims.
