Some conservatives are coming out against Trump.

Ergo, I now endorse Donald Trump for the Republican nomination.

Wow. Talk about misreading people and the effects of circumstance. Just because the man has a different point of view than you do, and grew up understanding how the world REALLY sees us, does not mean he hates America. He made this nation his HOME, and given that he grew up able to literally make his home anywhere, that says a LOT. WHY would he be here if he didn't love this country?

AND, name ONE policy or action that shows a lack of heart. I'm not talking about showing what to you will be a gross misinterpretation of how things should work, because obviously you feel that way about his policies, but lack of heart, lack of caring. It seems to me that everything he has done reflects a deep desire to make sure everyone is taken care of, to make things right, to make the US a better place.

Can't find it but I wanted to quote someone who suggested that Trump would at least bring financial expertise to the White House.

Actually, I question that.

He is really good at leveraging other people's money, and playing the finance game that fuels the real estate industry. As someone noted, he makes his money off of "rents," mostly, as well as Casinos. But he has gone underwater on various ventures over and over and almost went completely out of business in the early 1990's. He called in high priced experts and got the debt worked out. He's alive and well in business today only because he has been able, over and over, to walk away when things didn't turn out right. Someone else is always left holding the bucket when his risks don't play out favorably.

That game isn't available to the US government and Trump has no idea how to operate using anything resembling fiscal constraint. He doesn't operate his personal life or his businesses with any measure of restraint at all.

He has no idea how to work GOVERNMENT finance, and the US doesn't have the option of renegotiating with it's lenders to make it's debts go away just because they got too big.

To sit here and KNOW how often he has played that game, of overextending and walking away, and then hear him make his political speil full of bravada, is sickening. I couldn't care less how many mistakes a politician has made in their personal life, but how Trump has made his millions is HIGHLY relevent to how he would operate as a President, and needs to be understood.

I find the guy highly entertaining, and I think he'd be fascinating to work with, but he's full of it when it comes to this campaign.

And, again, that wasn't even him starting that business. It was his father's handed down to him.

"One of Donald's first projects, while he was still in college, was the revitalization of the foreclosed Swifton Village apartment complex in Cincinnati, Ohio, which his father had purchased for 5.7 million dollars in 1962."

Wish I had that investment capital when I was college age. 5 million in 1962. Absurd.

He's not really running. He's pretended to run before. It's free publicity for whatever he's up to at the moment.

He just said we should take Libya's oil. That's a wink. He's not serious.

I recall how Trump had said recently that he thought that Obama was not only not a real citizen, but that he also didn't really qualify to enter the prestigious schools he had gone to, and that it had been Bill Ayers who had written his biographies. In short, he says Obama really doesn't exist.
Well, if anyone is such a phony as to casting doubt on his own "existence," it's Donald Trump. It must be remembered, just barely over two years ago, he had been an Obama supporter - now Trump hates him. Trump had been proudly pro-choice - now he's miraculously pro-life. He never was seen setting foot inside a church - now, he tells Pat Robertson's joke of a news network he goes for all religious holidays and every Sunday when he can make it. He had been pro gay marriage - now he opposes it. He had been all for raising taxes in order to save the economy - now, he wants to give the rich all the more tax breaks. Everything I had known about Trump previously told me he was largely free from xenophobia - but suddenly, he's casting suspicion on all Muslims.
If Donald Trump was able to shed all his old values for political expediency, then I have to wonder if he really believes in anything. Even if his run for president is just to promote himself and his TV show, he has revealed himself to be empty and soulless.

I wouldn't dismiss Trump out of hand, especially over the birther thing, while I believe Obama was born in Hawaii, that doesn't mean Trump may have found something to indicate otherwise or has found something else tangential to this that is a cause of serious concern.

Of all the things Trump is, it would be a mistake to dismiss him as stupid. The guy was one of the few that thought something was fishy with the banks and didn't get caught in the financial meltdown.

If that's the case than Democrats are full of radioactive toxic waste like any good Democrat candidate.

Interesting points on how much of a flip this all is for the man. I don't have a habit of remembering every celebrities political leanings, so I totally missed that point. And it does leave me wondering exactly what game he's playing ... I honestly don't see him as the type to ACTUALLY flip his views around like that. Something is up.

Trump thinks Obama is out to destroy the American Economy.

That said I will be looking at his changes in positions to see if he decides to change back to his original postions. There are people that will change positions on topics based on new information.

Furthermore, it is a mistake to dismiss what the man is saying out of hand, the man is not stupid, and has the money to actually pay people to investigate things for him. Could be his investigators have found something of interest.

You don't need to go there. You can easily do it from his life's history. He's never had to face consequence for his actions. He never has gambled with his own money on the line. He has no history of accountability other than the minimal accountability with his rent job and gambling...which both of those are just about the easiest ways to make money assuming that you start out with money and a company already well-established like he did.
