From Sahih Bukhari (Bukhari, 2:23:441)

"Allah's Apostle said, "Every child is born with a true faith of Islam (i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone) but his parents convert him to Judaism, Christianity or Magainism, as an animal delivers a perfect baby animal. Do you find it mutilated?" Then Abu Huraira recited the holy verses: "The pure Allah's Islamic nature (true faith of Islam) (i.e. worshipping none but Allah) with which He has created human beings. No change let there be in the religion of Allah (i.e. joining none in worship with Allah). That is the straight religion (Islam) but most of men know, not."

I already knew this over 5 years ago. It really is comparing like with unlike.

Muslims do not divide society into Muslims and non-Muslims like most westerners do but into believers and unbelievers. Kaafir is actually a derogatory term. Islam is not hereditary in the same sense as Judaism is. If a person has a Jewish mother but does not follow the Jewish religion then they are still regarded as being a Jew, or more precisely, a member of the Jewish tribe. If a person has Muslim parents but does not follow Islam then they are regarded as an unbeliever.

Why exactly are Jews so valuable that you have to go out of your way to defend them? i will bring this to the attention of the other moderators to see what they have to say about it. i cannot tell if Arran is suggesting that Jewish people do not deserve protection just like any other human beings, or if he is wondering why members seem to put the protection of Jewish people ABOVE other human beings. there is a distinction between the 2 ideas. one would break the rules, and the other would not.

Given he's an avid supporter of a fundamentalist, theocratic Islamist Iranian regime that a) does not consider Hamas a terrorist organisation and b) actively funds Hamas, I think you can work out where he's coming from. Oh, and he openly despises liberal democracy.

The Hamas Charter calls for the killing of all Jews (not 'merely' Israelis) and uses Islamic scripture to back it up. See GGPViper's posts, but I'll post the genuine Islamic hadith quoted approvingly in the Hamas Charter again, just for fun:

The Day of Judgement will not come until Muslims fight and kill the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say, 'O Muslims, O Abdullah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him'. Only the Gharkad tree would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.

Is there a problem with posting videos by Hamas politicians in order to expose their genocidal anti-Semitism? They routinely refer to Jews as "the descendants of apes and pigs" and "bloodsuckers", just like in the Quran.

Wrong. I have absolutely nothing against individual Jews.

Correct. Some members appear to be acting as merchants of Zionism.

Where on earth did I say that I support the Iranian regime and the ideology of Ahmadinejad? I have visited Iran but I can also write reams of criticism of the Iranian government. Neither am I a Hamas supporter. I don't want either or nonsense statements that ALL critics of Israel are systematically supporters of Hamas.

I don't see what is wrong with despising liberal democracy. It is not sacred.

That wasn't his point. His point was that a short clip that he saw as harmless (and that itself mocked racism, as did the Fawlty Towers clip) was immediately removed, yet far more racist content posted by other members is allowed to remain (at least in the interim).

The BNP don't have anything against black or Asian people either.

Pull the other one, friend.

I never said you were.

I said that the BNP had nothing against black or Asian people. Which is true. They just want to 'voluntarily' deport them all. Even those that are born here and have lived here for generations now.

this the problem when debating with Israel supporters. Its impossible to prevent the debate from turning into something about anti semitism when in fact its not.

For every Palestinian or arab anti semitic organisation i can name you a Jewish Palestinian sympathetic organisation.

You support Fatah, don't you?

That's the Fatah whose leader has engaged in Holocaust denial.

The Fatah whose leader is in his eighth year of a four-year term (and still counting), and there are no elections on the horizon. So you can't vote for that nice Mr. Abbas even if you wanted to.

The Fatah that runs a PA like it's its own personal fiefdom; an incredibly corrupt entity that routinely takes aid money and distributes it amongst its followers. The Fatah where the movers and shakers can buy brand new Mercedes cars with some regularity with money given in good faith whilst the people in the PA suffer.

It's also the Fatah that has a very poor record on its treatment of women, gay people and religious minorities as well as Palestinian journalists who have the nerve to be critical of their regime, and that's not forgetting other political opponents. It's gotten that serious in the PA that an Arab human rights charity in the UK has drawn attention to the disgusting way it treats its people.

Oh, yes, and Fatah is the 'moderate' organisation that regularly broadcasts incitement to terrorism and glorification of suicide bombers and other murderous terrorists on state television, as well as regularly poisoning the minds of those Palestinians living in the West Bank with demonisation of Israelis and Jews.

Pull the other one. Nearly all the Palestinian organisations are anti-Israel in the West Bank and Gaza and are almost always anti-Semitic as well.

thomas81 wrote:

There are lots of Jewish organisations and political parties that are sympathetic to the situation of the Palestinians. Most of those people don't call for the Jewish state to be annihilated. They favour compromise, and peaceful dialogue, and rapprochement with peaceful Palestinian people. The centre-left and left-wing Zionist parties in Israel itself are known to focus on this as a big part of their manifesto.

no. I said if i was palestinian i would vote for them. Thats hardy the same thing. Purely on the basis of their secular socialist credentials.

on that point i call cultural relativism. Expecting the lay arab who fatah speak on behalf of, to avidly advocate or appreciate a genocide that occured over a thousand miles away in a theatre that did not concern them is like expecting a Polish or Czech Jew to display the same enthusiasm for the victims of the rape of Nanking.

None of which justifies Israel's incursions into either the Gaza or West Bank.

What ive said thus far by in large applies to the rest of your rant.

interesting you should mention, Einstein was one of the Jews who was for the most part opposed to the formation of Israel under its current guise. He understood the problems it would create.

You tell porkies. Einstein was a Labor Zionist. He favoured Jewish-Arab co-operation (and, yes, he favoured co-operation with the Arabs in the 1930s about creating a combined Arab and Jewish state, but events - mainly from Arab rejectionism and war - made that impossible, so he went with the Jewish state instead), whereas you favour no Jewish state at all.

Or, er, with Jews in general.

Apart from Bhutan and North Korea, that's also correct.
