Interesting you feel you can tell me "what I really did"

I quoted your own words back at you, because those words and the description you were giving of those words did not match. I didn't just tell you what you had done, I showed it to you. I didn't fiddle with your words, like you did mine, I just quoted you, once when you said you didn't insult him, and once when you were insulting him.

He just rearranged words,

And the rearranged words had the same amount of validity as an argument as the originals. You keep ignoring this part, and this is the part that makes it work.

What's unexpected about defending a valid argument from random insults and adjectives?

Quote:
He just mirrored my posts in an attempt to mock me.

That's not a fact, it's your personal spin on it. You're seeing mocking where there is none.

He's not fighting my battle since this is NOT a battle. And since his arguments are accurate, clear and well argumented I don't feel the need to add anything more besides he has already said.

And besides that, trying to debate with you is a waste of time, since what you do is basically:

- Making bald assertions.
- Assigning to others words that they didn't say.
- Insulting them repeatedly.
- And then keeping stating again and again that you "won" the debate and the rest "got" what they deserved.

Ok, back on track. I wish more feminists would learn that the answer to "disagreeable" speech is not censorship or suppression, but more speech. Clearly the one in the OP isn't quite there yet.

I dont know the situation that lead to this but sometimes there´s need for this if people keep ignoring your requests.

For example earlier this year Jose Ignacio Wert was about to give an speech at an open forum when he found out he couldnt talk.
Hundred of protesters had gathered and whenever he was about to talk they began to make noise to make sure he couldnt talk,

Surely this wasnt the most polite thing to do at the time, however thousands of people have been complaining about some of his acts when it comes to school system reforms for a year and they had been ignored, this little act got front page on almost any newspaper on the country.
And they had to release an statement saying he couldnt give his speech because plenty of people, unhappy with his acts didnt let him

I talked to the manager of the place where his talk was taking place shortly after it happened by sheer chance(my mum knew him so she approached him about the situation) and all he could say was that the protesters were a bit rude but didnt behave ilegally in any way whatsoever and they got their point across

If any of you have real grounds to be against a feminist talk you are more than free to try to gather a group of people and do the same as long as you aren´t harming anyone involved on the feminist talk(by harming someone you are indeed crossing the line of legality and you can end up in trouble)

But, then we would be labeled the "M-Word!"

Anyway, I can see why a lot of women don't want to consider themselves to be Feminists, since the Feminist label seems to have been commandeered by shrieking harpies.

Most of the times when you want to make a change you need to take a risk such as being criticised by others that dont understand what you are doing for a while.

If this stops you from trying then I´m sorry but I doubt you have much of a cause to fight for

I just feel compelled to post the entire review in Nature that Dawkins is referring to:

What annoyed me more was them making a big deal out of the man's claims about false rape accusations.

Not if you pay attention to actual, real-world, facts on the ground.

This was exactly the problem with the statement that you QFT'd. It was merely stated, without evidence, and when it was challenged as lacking evidence, evidence still was not forthcoming.

Actual facts and logical arguments that connect those facts to a conclusion are important, mere statements of a conclusion without the rest is just hot air.

Quote:
You can childishly switch out 'men' for 'women,'

There's nothing childish about it. Without supporting facts tying it to reality, the example statement you made in your post is no more verifiable or falsifiable or convincing than the flipped version. As long as no facts (or arguments) support the original version, the flipped version is just as good (or just as worthless).

The whole point of swapping them out is to make this clear.

If you don't get that the vast majority of CEO's, CFOs, politicians, etc. are in fact male, without me having to produce 'evidence' to those facts, I don't think tis me with the problem.

If you don't get that MRAs are basically a counter-feminist backlash with desires to go back to when men could do whatever the hell they wanted, then I guess you have the good fortune to have never hung out much on Spearhead or Reddit. Keep that up; it's better for your sanity.

This feminist group pulled a fire alarm on a meeting that was advocating gender equality. From the info I was able to gather, these feminists felt that addressing men's issues was somehow misogyny, and therefore set the fire alarm off to interrupt the meeting. The confrontation in the video happened afterwards.

They're not helping the damaged image of feminism in 2013. If you want to get your ideas across, try lowering your voice and speak like a human being.

So was this a legitimate group actually focused on men's rights, or was it a group focused on sending women back to the Dark Ages?

There's a difference. I am for men's rights and thought I would probably identify with MRA, until I learned what these groups are actually about. "Woe is me! I can't get laid. Blame the feminists, and let's solve our problems by importing Asian women or sending native women back to the kitchen."

I might have pulled the fire alarm too.

I stopped watching the video 30 seconds in as she was loud and obnoxious.

Yeah, you can tell whose side the filmer supported.

I wish MRA didn't have such a bad name. She spent the whole time actually saying that feminists and men's rights activists should be allies, which I agree with. The enemy should be the popular culture and Western society.

That statement I don't seriously question, the rest of the original statement of yours (from "double-blind" on) was not supported by evidence and is not obvious.

I haven't been on either of those sites, and if they're as sanity-destroying as you say, I almost certainly won't.

The original statement about MRAs was never substantiated, and neither has this one you just made. I'm really tired of harping on the problems of bald assertions without being listened to, so I'll just say that I won't take either statement seriously if nobody can be bothered to back them up with facts. If you (or anyone else) want to back up the statements, keep in mind that quoting one kooky MRA is no more proof that all MRAs are kooks than if you flip that statement around with 'feminist' instead of 'MRA'.

I believe this was the topic of the interrupted April 4 lecture (the top one). You decide...
