Except for Scientology of course, which explains truthfully the system of the universe as well as the myths about the public enemy which is Psychiatry, such as drugs, ADHD, autism, etc.

And if the Jedi Faith works for them, who are we to question it? If it helps you to live a good life, pay your taxes, obey the law ...

Am I wrong to find it just plain childish that someone needs to believe that the force is with him/her in order to be motivated to pay their taxes?

No, you're not wrong. You're not right, either. You're just advancing an opinion, which is certainly your prerogative. Personally, I equate the Force with the Holy Spirit.

I know you love to run people down for having certain beliefs. In fact, that seems to be all you do here on WP, making smirking sarcastic comments, belittling others, thereby aggrandizing yourself. And you are all of 15 years old ...

Scientologists try to con people that they have a scientific system, when in fact all they have is pseudo-science nonsense. People without a good scientific education are likely to fall for their crap because they try to express it couched in scientific and technical language. It seems to be the craze at the moment, cranksters and snake oil salesmen only have to start talking about how their product works at the quantum level of entanglement stimulating the body's own natural energy fields and that's another sale  Suckers!

And read my posts on the other thread about $cientology here: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt88865.html

Eh, I watched that about a year and a half ago. Pretty amazing of course if true, which I'm not doubting it is.

But can you move objects with the Holy Spirit? :P

Well I certainly see you happen to have a dislike of me, which is fine although I've no such opinion of you in return. For the record though I do not intend to put people down as you put it but merely to express my opinions and thoughts while challenging others' perspectives as I find it intellectually refreshing to exchange points with those who share contrary views to mine. The other factor as well happens to be the fact that I tend to have a more open sense of humor than yours', and you seem to draw offense rather easily. I've made jokes perhaps more 'offensive' than I've posted here to some of my friends who are religious in the past and they were able to get a laugh out of it rather than a tear in their eye.

The Jedi faith is purely used as a means to protest the government asking what your religion is. As far as I know, there are no actual practicing Jedi.

As for Scientology, it is a religion based purely around money. What really bugs me about them is their tax exempt status, as they are clearly a scheme.

I see little difference between Scientology and mainstream religions, All are based upon spurious claims and have an adverse effect upon humanity whilst claiming the opposite

What's the difference between a religion and a cult? About 2000 years.

Laxatives are more efficient.

Eh, a bit less than that. Over one billion people say Islam is their religion, and generally most people in general recognize it as such and it's quite far from being 2,000 years old. (About 1,300 years old)
