Jesus does not differentiate them.

Quoting verses out of context is something that Christians are explicitly warned to be on the lookout for in the Bible.

Of course. That is why you will find that Jesus doesn't differentiate between the lazy and disabled.

Jesus was not referring to poor people that choose to leach off of society, which wasn't exactly common in his time. I mean seriously, lazily feeling that you are entitled to the fruits of other people's labors. instead of being grateful they decided to help you at all is kinda telling.

Furthermore when it came to the blind, cripples, etc. Jesus healed them, he didn't go, "Oh here is some gold coins."

While Jesus preaches forgiveness, he was not preaching that it is okay to scam people and take advantage of their generosity.

sez you, I can not find what you are saying in the book.
Proof text please.

There is not a word of gospel text that literally supports what you are asserting. You are reading your own message into the Message.

In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus seems to be telling people: Hey don't worry. You will be fed, clothed etc. etc. He never says how, though. Sounds like a scam to me.

While there is not anything in the New Testament that directly says that, I'm looking at the Old Testament, specifically the 10 commandments.

I view people being lazy and expecting everything to come to them, to be stealing.

I'm not referring to people that are disabled, children, etc.

So it is your view not necessarily the view of Josh?

613 Commandments.

For non-Jews the best general guide are the seven Noachide laws (Laws given to Noah after the flood subsided).

These seven are:
The seven laws listed by the Tosefta and the Talmud are:
Prohibition of Idolatry
Prohibition of Murder
Prohibition of Theft
Prohibition of Sexual immorality
Prohibition of Blasphemy
Prohibition of eating flesh taken from an animal while it is still alive
Establishment of courts of law

These form a small subset of the 613 laws binding on Jews.

According to the Mishnah Torah adherence to the seven Noachide laws is sufficient to guarantee a portion in the World to Come. You will notice there is no requirement to keep the Sabbath and no requirement to even pray to God. Just don't piss God off with blasphemy and idolatry.

Okay ruveyn here is an honest question, what is the Jewish view of laziness and trying to take advantage of other people's kindness? What is the Jewish view of people scamming people to take advantage of their good nature?

I don't like the idle rich either but I don't think we should take their money just cuz they don't work.

Wow, thanks for the unrelated comment.
What on Hollywood Blvd that they should protest?
Amoeba music?

The Idle rich (those that profit without labor) take a lot more money out of the system than the Idle poor.
I begrudge neither his food.

Oh so you're saying that people like Steve Jobs are a bunch of lazy people?

I don't think anyone is going to say people like Steve Jobs were lazy.
And I for one don't have a gripe against people with money. What really pisses me off, though, is when Fox, or the tea party, or any other conservative groups or individuals maintain that the rich are of more worth than those of us without money, because they might create jobs, or should have more political say, because they have more to lose than the rest of us. Or how tax cuts for the rich will "someday" ensure jobs in America, but having a social safety net preserved for the rest of us creates a "culture of dependency." Being belittled as a citizen and as a person is at the root of my hostility toward the moneyed right and their minions, not envy for what they have.

And by the way, my Bible class at church is studying the book of Amos, and a constant theme there is that God was threatening to destroy Israel, because of how the rich were living in the lap of luxury at the expense of the poor.

Whether Steve was lazy or not, accumulating a huge fortune for one's self is incompatible with the teachings of Jesus.

Should I guess that you are not on board with the plan?
please try to make arguments just for your side the ones you try to make for mine sound dumb.
kinda like you are not even trying almost like you are intentionally making bad arguments.

Steve is a great guy I did not think he was lazy until very recently in the past weeks he has done nothing.
