BULL.

Everyone has their history of oppression. Blacks just have the most notorious, and if we had a Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton who made as big a poop storm over every time a white, Hispanic or Asian is discriminated against or treated unfairly, you'd have a very different public image.

Today's blacks enjoy untold opportunity because of everything set in place to ensure they find success. Why do so many of them fail to attain it? It's because they choose to feed their own on the hatred of past generations. It's because they CHOOSE to reject education and culture because it's somehow bowing down to the white man.

Jews are the most persecuted race on the planet. Do you see them rioting or building a better future for themselves.

I don't know if the issue is a fundamental "sickness" that makes the black people reject avenues of prosperity and success to remain mired in the past or if it's because some groups (with traitors like Jackson and Sharpton) working to keep the black community fixated on anger and hatred so that they can't look forward to better things. In either case, they are largely to blame for being held back.

My uncle was anything but racist, and he wouldn't hire black people. He hired Hispanics. Why? Because EVERY TIME he gave a black person a chance, he couldn't get a honest day's work out of them. Yes, this is not proof that all black people are that way, but a businessman can not afford to keep giving people opportunities. He hardly ever had a problem with a Hispanic employee, so he just decided he was tired of giving opportunities to black people.

It's the same thing with hiring. Hardly anyone has an issue with hiring a black person, but if you show up, dressed like a slob, borderline illiterate, can't speak English properly, can't do basic math, and/or come across with a poor attitude, who wants that in their workplace? That's not being racist. That's avoiding someone who gives no indication that they will be a reliable employee. Nobody forces a job applicant to come across so poorly when asking for a job.

Did you know that the first places Treyvon's father called when looking for his son were the local juvenile halls (jails for minors)? Doesn't that say something?

How many Jews have rioted or killed over the Khaybar TV series that is currently airing across the Arab world during Ramadan?

How many, thomas81? Compared to Muslim outrage?

And no-one has been more oppressed in human history than Jews. Including by people like you who would deny them their homeland.

Most peoples of the world have a history of having bad things happen to them. It's not unique across Europe, in South America, North America, Africa, or anywhere else. People have done awful things to each other throughout history.

It's about whether people want to improve themselves (and their societies) and become better, or whether they personally want to sit there and moan about things that nobody alive today was responsible for, whether they want to bathe in their own bitterness and hatred.

The latter isn't for me, thanks.

They don't need to because they have the Israeli air force to do it for them.

...Anyway do you honestly believe for a moment that the hebrew speaking channels are not giving as good as they get?

Irrelevant to the case, and does not add anything to Zimmerman's right to esculate the encounter beyond what it needed to be.

Martin's family has already won a settlement from the HOA for letting Zimmerman run around playing cop. Which sucks for the locals. I'm not sure how they'll pay it. Possibly by increasing their fees to residents. So everyone in the subdivision would have to pay for Zimmerman's actions. I pay HOA myself and would hate to have to kick in more because my neighbor was a cowboy. Maybe they can pay it another way.

That's what general liability insurance is for.

So the good hearted insurance company pays out a reported million plus to cover the cowboy and don't think to raise rates? Don't think to drop the hoa where Zimmerman was living with his folks? Whoever quotes them a new premium won't take history into consideration? Those are some nice insurance companies.

Other people continue to pay for George's hobby

I actually wonder whether a lot of the race-mongers would actually prefer it if Zimmerman was actually prosecuted despite the evidence (if any) leading away from the idea of murder. Perhaps they would be happy if, in say, 20 years time it is 'revealed' that he is actually not guilty of the crime that he had been sent to prison for. If one looks at the facts of this case (and the facts alone), the prosecution's case looks quite weak. That's what a jury should decide on - the strength of the evidence. Emotion and other extraneous factors should not come into it. Given that there is little evidence of the actual nature of the violent encounter as such, all we have to go on is his account (and the evidence left at the scene).

What Martin should have done is he should first of all have kept the hell away from gated communities. You don't end up inside them by accident - they're meant to keep the public out. And if you do end up inside them, you don't try to kick hell out of someone who tries to apprehend you. You talk to them.

Personally, I think he was up to no good and he knew that. The guy who challenged him doesn't look particularly morally righteous either. This case is messy, but what's done is done.

As for the defence using the fact that Martin had marijuana in his system (a relaxant) it's worth noting that Zimmerman supposedly had Adderall and Temazepam in his system. An amphetamine/benzodiazepine cocktail has been known to have a side effect of increased aggression in certain individuals.

Zimmerman is clearly multiracial, he doesn't 'pass for white'. It may be different in other countries but in the US, based on appearance Zimmerman would not be considered white. If his name didn't sound white, I doubt he is ever identified as such. There really is no evidence that race played a role in this case.

I'm not sure he's even a landowner either, the houses around where the incident took place look like big apartment complexes. Where I grew up, those would of all been rentals but I think it may be more common to buy into condos like that down in Florida tho.

I didn't like how they drug Martin's character thru the mud either but I understand why they did it. I don't know if this was a big story overseas when it first happened but the media purposely tried to manipulate the perceptions of the case by using a mugshot of Zimmerman and picture of Martin when he was 12 years old. NBC purposefully edited Zimmerman's 911 call so it made it sound like he was racially profiling and know will probably end up paying Zimmerman big bucks.

I beg to differ. When I first saw him I saw a Hispanic male or at least a minority. I am Latino and I am much lighter skinned than him. I got picked on by my own race for looking white. Honestly though all complexions have their advantages and disadvantages. Everyone keeps painting this picture of rich White Americans but that is far from the truth. Whites do not have an advantage. In fact in our current politically correct world Whites are more at a disadvantage. Minorities get extra benefits as small businesses that Whites don't. So I don't see this so called "white privilege".

Even after the race debate is said and done, my main worry is that this case will create a precedence; more neighbourhood watch types from gated communities like this will keep pushing the envelope to see what else they can get away with off the back of the 'stand your ground' loophole. Particularly so in a batshit crazy state like Florida where the right-wing gun complex is particularly prominent.

This case certainly sends that message and all of the evidence I have heard suggests there was malice on Zimmerman's part. On the 911 call he did not use the word 'cold', he used the word 'coon'. This is in Florida for christ's sake. It doesnt get cold in Florida.

Yup - Zimmerman is as Hispanic as he is white. And frankly this constant misleading reference to the supposed 'race angle' of this case simply serves to muddy the true facts of what went on, and I suspect those promulgating it know this.

Elements of the perpetually race-obsessed left have tried to turn this case into their obsession with race, when really it looks to me as if race didn't play any part in this at all.

If the case against Zimmerman was much stronger, there's no doubt that he should go down. That doesn't apply here.

That is one of the tenants of ethnic or demographic privilege. If you are of empowered, or percieved to be a member of the empowered group then you are blind to the existance of said privilege. It was observed by the teacher and educator Jane Elliott who performed a experiment by dividing a group into 2 and giving them different treatment on the basis of eye colour.

I have witnessed it myself here in Northern Ireland, where protestants refuse to believe their empowered status despite having greater social leverage than Irish nationalists (not being victimised by the one household one vote policy for example).

If he had used the word 'coon' the prosecution would of been all over it, he didn't. There simply was no evidence of racial prejudice. Zimmerman is actually part black himself.

If anything, I think this will discourage people from participating in neighborhood watches. Zimmerman's life has been a living hell and I doubt he'll find much peace in the future either.

I thought Zimmerman was part Hispanic. In any case yes I doubt people are going to cling to their guns and pitch forks as well. This was an isolated incident.
