I was raised Catholic for the most part, though it was always pretty lax. Then around age 15 I made my own version of loose Xtianity called Theo-Jesu-Bioequalitarian-Evolutionism.

And then finally not even that made sense to me. I am currently atheist and do not believe in any divine power or consciousness to the universe. The universe just is, imho. And thankfully I don't find that thought depressing.

Sometimes I think a certain idealism makes humans fear the possibility that there is no divine all-knowing, all-powerful, all-loving god(s). I think people fear pointlessness and death in general (I know I do) and the idea of a god or gods is comforting and gives the universe, through their perception, some meaning.

I have resolved to find my own meaning. I'm content in that. Not that I'm too fond of the idea of my death being the absolute end of my consciousness. That's not so pleasant. But I just can't deny the things that I think I see.

I'm not sure what I am. I'm supposed to be Catholic, but I don't really believe in it. I believe that there most likely is a god, and I believe in spirits. I also pray on occasion. I'm uncomfortable with going to church and saying grace before meals though. I prefer to keep my relationship with God, if He/She exists, personal. I am skeptical about Jesus, Moses, and everything else in the Bible. I took a quiz and it said I was 96% agnostic. I suppose I'm agnostic leaning towards there is a God? I am agnostic in the sense that I don't think things can be proven and an somewhat against organized religion, but I have my beliefs in God and spirits as well.

Edited to add: I am somewhat against organized religion for MYSELF. I have nothing against anyone who chooses to be a part of an organized religion. Everyone should believe whatever they choose.

I too am skeptical about my religion and
the infamous prohecy like Jesus and Moses.
I also pray internally instead of out loud.
But one thing I'm sure of is that their
is higher being out there. But I respect every religions and athesists.
Everyone should believe what they want to believe.

I was raised as a Romanian-Orthodox but after I got adopted my beliefs stammered, and now I am sort of agnostic. I still dont rule out the existence of god, or a higher being. I am reading some books and articles on quantom theory and zero point energy, and it does have some interesting spiritual/religeous connotations to it.

Christian. Fundamentalist.

5 Fundamentals of Christianity

1. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, without flaw in its original form.
2. Christ was born of a virgin.
3. The miracles of Christ are historical events.
4. Christ's Crucifixion is substitutionary atonement (He willingly accepted the judgment for our sins).
5. Bodily resurrection.

:D

I suppose that right now I could be labled as a weak-atheist. In my understanding, these are the difference between the two forms of atheism and agnosticism.

Strong-Atheist - Firmly denies the existence of a god or gods.
Weak-Atheist - Has chosen not to believe in a god or gods
Agnostic - Doesn't believe the question is answerable.

The distinction between the two Atheisms is subtle, but there. As far as to what I do believe in, Buddhism would be the closest fit, although not a good one. I do not believe in reincarnation.

In moments of fancy, I entertain the notion of a clockwork God, but that doesn't last long.

Agnostic. I don't presume to know if there's a god or not. I tend to think that since it's not really possible to know for certain, the particulars don't matter as much as being a decent human being, which seems like the sensible thing to do anyway.

Well kevv, it might still happen. I was on the blower to Ali the other day and told him Im totally down for this fundamentalist sh** in Saudi but enquired as to were i could get a drink on my own time, well he says i cant and i says "dont bust my balls, i know we tell the masses to not drink but we are the ruling elite and so have the privalege to be hypocritical unlike the great unwashed, surely this is just something we tell others to do".

Well he said that would be unholy and that i am acting like an infidel so i say "look if im going to be fundamentallly strict and angry seven days a week and giving sermons about the evils of the americans and their vices for sixteen hours a day then i need something to take the edge off of it so where do i get a drink, buster?"well then he get's angry and said if i drink alcohol then he personally promises that i will be bent over, have my trousers pulled down and get 100 lashes with a wip and 50 skelps with a slipper as punishment, so i said "il hold you to that brother Ali". All in all im looking forward to being a Saudi Wahhabi.
Well if You become a Saudi Wahhabi can I join You and become one too. I meant a Turkish woman my age not married yet maybe We would not need to move to Saudi Arabia in the end what do You think. Though You may need to give up drinking ab-it what do You truly think.

I don't exactly know what strength of atheist I am (sounds like an Tylenol tablet).

I do not believe there are any gods to this universe nor any spiritual consciousness to the universe, itself. However, I realize I could be wrong. But despite my awareness of this possibility, I still live as I believe.

Bland- I am an unconventional christian. I believe that all questions about God and Christianity are answered WHEN you consider the Bible from a DISPENSATIONAL standing. The seeming contradictions and most of the "unanswerable" questions all become clear if you understand what dispensation we're in.

The Bible is the true and valid book of God. There is a test called Texual Criticism. This is not something that Christians have come up with. If you study how the Bible stands up to Texual Criticism you will have to concur that it is the Truth. Or, put your hands over your eyes and ears and scream, "I'M NOT LISTENING! LALALALALALALALALA!!"

Maybe you are abnormal & have more than one pair of hands, but most people can not do that at the same time.
