My point is that the definition of "entity" "spirit" "daemon" ect. is all very subjective. the gods wear masks. and they all live deep in our subconscious as "big ideas" such as "fear" "love" "despair" "joy". these all are primal instincts humans had them before the developments of language and writing. symbols play a major part in all religions, psychologies, ect. raw symbolism has more access to the primal subconsciouss than say language which infects us and makes us use certain pre-defined sounds and symbols to represent distinct definitions. when I write "apple", you can visualize the fruit I am describing, and even recall the taste. when I say "red delicious apple" it becomes even more specific. but you can't visualize the very apple I see. the word is just a word, not the thing. the map is not the territory.
so if your son sees daemons, this is just his definition of a phenonomea that he is witnessing. I recall 16 as a very turbulent age, I myself had many demonic dreams at 16-17 up to the point I nearly tried to off myself. Projections of your deepest and most intense emotions can be very dangerous. fear, despair, and hatred in their purest forms and our interactions with them can be desribed as "entities" "spirits" and "energies" they might not be as real as you second cousin from Texas, but they are "real enough" to effect the way that you percieve reality and interact with it. just as our typed out posts evolved and became this thread as a whole, a person's relationship with subconscious "big ideas" can take on a life of their own and spin into weird and unexplored tangents. The way that I've found to deal with these "negative" emotions/entities/daemons is to confront, accept and absorb them even becoming them for a short while, but then putting them right back where they came from: the deep mind, hell or whatever you want to call it. but my management techniques took me awhile to practice and develop. when I was your sons age and a little older I would usually build up to an explosion that wouldn't be pretty. perhaps you can help him find a technique that will enable him to confront his overflowing subconscious desires/fears.
for descerning readers: every mention of entities/daemons/emotions/big ideas/energy ect. can be interchanged at will. also the word "subconscious" can be replaced with "soul" "magickal self" "true self" "inner self" ect. it's all semantics.
