That the government is the source of all solutions.

That the government is the source of all problems.

That the USA is the source of all of the world's virtue.

That the USA is the source of all of the World's evil.

Just about any truisms about muslims is a false stereotype. (Muslims are vast varied group).

I'd complain about the necro, but reading back through this thread I see it contains some of my better work nailing down specific arguments concerning guns. I'll have to bookmark this baby, in case I need to refer back to it when similar arguments get trotted out in the future. :)

Actually it is obvious the Republicans are doing a major amount of whining these days.

Liberals are bigger cry babies than Conservatives. It could explain why Conservatives are happier in their life than liberals. Constantly crying about something can't be too good for someones emotional health.

Conservatives are jackass dips**t bullies seems true as wll. Watch yourself you f*****g prick.

I think one of the political stereotypes which I find the most damaging and problematic is the false dichotomy, that liberals/Democrats are incapable of being fiscally responsible, and by extension, that conservatives/Republicans are incapable of being fiscally irresponsible. I suppose I can understand how that assumption originated, but it's just not true. The Republican answer to deficits always seems to be tax cuts for the rich, which not only never really solves the problem, but actually makes it worse by putting us further into the red.

Similarly, I have a problem with the assumption that liberal social views are totally incompatible with more centrist or conservative financial views. Not all social liberals are Marxists; I, for example, am a firm supporter of capitalism, so long as it has restraints to keep Wall Street from ripping off poor people, and so long as it is understood that some things (like security against violence, theft and fire, for example, or access to education and healthcare) are too important for the collective welfare of the people for private industry to hold monopolies on them.

It turns out no one in government is fiscally responsible, regardless of party.

That Christians are afraid of science.

That being a Democrat means that you automatically lean 'left.'

That all enviromentalists are nothing but human-hating wackjobs who think animals are better.

That all feminists think men are eeviil.

I'm sorry. I can't stand clueless out-of-touch brats living a sheltered existence stating how rugged and macho they are, appealing to the typical high-school mentality.

The flipside of that is something I get a lot: "If you didn't support Bush, you must LOVE Obama".

My buddy Bryan prefers Obama over W and my buddy drew prefers W over Obama and I prefer neither over the other i hate them both

Those ones irritate me too. Particularly when people describe the Cold War as communism vs. capitalism. That is a ridiculously oversimplified way to look at it. It was Capitalism/Democracy vs. Socialism/Single-Party-States. If I had it my way I'd make a country that had Socialism/Democracy, but during the Cold War that would be enough to label me as a Commie.

Well at least Liberals are descent enough to keep their moaning sounds to themselves.

Flick through the media and by a ratio of a min 5 to one their will be a gassbagging conservative who's overfeed, undersexed , and out of touch gabbling merrily (through more often than not angrily ) about the usual suspects:

1. The Liberal media want to steal your country and hand it over to a illegal immigrant.

2. Peta a terrorists.

3. Taxes equates theft.

4.High housing costs are the fault of liberal elites.

5.Trust fund Timmy should get his inheritance tax free *

This one really bothers me I think (aspie) Buffet :) nailed it when he said where handing command of the economy to people who have not earned it. :)

I call these brats on their bluff if they object to paying taxes on something they did not earn they can renounce their US citizenship and %%%% off to Estonia or Switzerland or Monaco or wherever welfare queens like to reside in.

I wish they had a estate tax here in Australia I think it was removed many moons ago....
