I'm beginning to think most americans don't really know what they want.

That's pretty much what H.L. Mencken had observed, but in less kind words.

cross bill maher, p.j. o'roark, George carlin and that English rock and roll chap whose name escapes me now, and one might touch Mencken.

Does it really matter who is screwing me over? I didn't vote because I hated all the candidates.

My family is higher end of the lower class, and Obamacare raised the cost of our health insurance by about 600%. So now we won't have health insurance, and we'll be paying an extra fine anyways.
If Romney was president, it would probably be just as bad or worse... I guess we'll be another family on medicaid soon enough.
Not to mention the cutbacks on food budget, and the fact that it looks like I won't be able to finish my associates degree...

What do they plan to do in place of Obamacare? I think it certainly has its flaws....but hopefully they don't mean to just kill it and don't have an alternate plan to ensure people still have access to healthcare...including people who cannot afford insurance or to pay all medical bills out of pocket. But if they have a better plan great.....simply 'killing obamacare' isn't going to solve anything though.

You Know the democratics ruined society by taking money for their own purpose. Old leaders really? Senior benefits are them. Lying a**holes! Glad we are turning the tables on this stupid system. Now we have to bring back money to the main job creation boards for illlinois.

Turning the tables on this stupid system? How by voting for a demorepublicorporateasskisser, you really think the democrats and republicans are entirely separate parties, with separate agendas. Just watch we'll get a republican president, everyone will get pissed and vote for a democrat next time.....just like people voted for Bush and didn't like what happened with that so voted for a Democrat thinking it would be great, then people got pissed and now want a republican.

If we got some third party or independent candidates, or ones that weren't owned by corporate america then that might be turning the tables on the stupid system. But voting for a republican instead of a democrat, or a democrat instead of a republican is not turning tables in any way.

So if free stuff is not provided, then that is the same as "letting someone die" ? Shouldn't we provide free cars to everyone, because someone may die from heat exhaustion from having to walk? And we need free homes, because people may end up in shelters, and those may not be safe. Everything should be free, because there is always the possibility something exists that is not free, and not having that thing may cause someone to die.

Well yeah if there is no access to medical treatment for those who cannot afford to pay, that would be letting people die. der.

Seriously, a decade as a libertarian and I'd never heard the name Horatio Alger until liberals started throwing it at me. Same with Ayn Rand actually, never read her until liberals kept accusing me of being brainwashed by her, figured I should know what the fuss was about if people were going to keep making stupid assumptions.

Really? That is like if I did not know who Chomsky is. Actually, even worse, Horatio Alger is history 101. I am glad those intellectual liberals educated you.
A Libertarian that does not know who Ayn Rand was?! 8O

That just proves how intellectually bankrupt the far right is...

The names they REALLY need to know are Locke and Burke...

THEN, we'd have actual libertarians instead of selfish, amoral a**holes.

Yes, it is free to you if your income is low enough. Though, not "free" to the middle class who will be paying the bill in higher premiums and higher taxes.

"Fact one: Thanks to Obamacare? subsidies, several million people now have the opportunity to get private insurance at essentially no cost".

And earlier you said many of the middle class are millionaires struggling at business or whatever, given that statement are these taxes and higher premiums really going to hurt these people that much? If these taxes and higher premiums are enough to make all the middle class go broke then that would be excessive and a more rational tax policy would be needed.....but I do not think the taxes are that excessive at this point.

So tax people until they go broke? :D

It really hurts the borderline people. The people who aren't exactly poor, but don't make a lot.

lower income people have long had a higher net tax burden than middle and upper class. ask none other than warren buffet who maintains he pays a lower tax rate than his secretary.

No, I oppose taxing people until they are broke, what I mean is taxes should not be so high they'd result in people going broke. However I think taxes are necessary to fund public services, so I could not support entirely getting rid of the tax system either. But taxes should be reasonable not burdensome.

Not sure what poor people you talking about. But about 1/2 of Americans don't pay any federal tax and likely don't pay any state tax. The poor have minimal tax burden, and most likely they are drawing forms of welfare, so they take from the system, not contribute.
