It certainly wouldn't be illegal in the US. For the most part people who call themselves "Satanists" - ie the LeVayans don't even believe in, let alone worship Satan - they are basically mocking Christianity. It's kind of silly to me making it a religion.

It's not illegal in any country that has freedom of religion. You're too young to be accepted as a member by any organized groups like the Church of Satan or the Temple of Set, however. Try reading some books on the subject or visiting some websites for the time being.

As religions go, Christianity is highly mockable, especially extreme Protestant sects such as the Fundies and other Bible Thumpers.

If Jesus came back to see what was made of his mission, he would climb up and nail himself to a cross.

There are some much more original and entertaining mock religions . . .

"All Praise to Bob! Blessed be the Slackers!" - http://www.subgenius.com

or

"May you be touched by His Noodly Appendage, Ramen!" - http://www.venganza.org/

As a firm follower of the Invisible Pink Unicorn I am offended by this blasphemy!

Well there is the Church of Satan although I don't think their principles and beliefs seem all that different from His Holiness only that there's no moral code for human behavior.

Basically the beliefs and principles behind satanism is that Satan represents human urges and that these urges shouldn't be suppressed....how demonic!

Wouldn't Christians who believe that there is a Satan (which many do) alo be Satanists?

Only until judgement day will his followers really know the truth behind his motives....:(

theres no real organized "satanist" religion.

there's lavey's "church of satan" but it uses "satan" as a mere symbol for the ego. i hate silly symbolism. what call it "satanism" then? "egoism" is a fitting name, cus theyre very eccentric about being douchebags and a**holes as well.

i bet they cry like little girls in bed at night when theyre allone

ive never met people w a more demeaning attitude than those guys, and thats what theyre all about. thats their personal goals, to be as assholish as possible, and to be proud of it

its not a worship of satan, its in fact more realist. Christianity says we are born good and do evil for which we must repent. Satanists say we are humans, we are flawed, we mess up. Once you accept it, you can learn to moderate yourself and your sins will balance out. Take sloth, your gluttorny will force you to get out of bed to eat, your pride will force you to keep your body in shape, along with lust to assist in that process, greed is balanced by sloth, I.E, long hours at work to make money and get ahead in the company is tampered by wanting of fun and relaxation and laziness.

Christianity is predicated on Original Sin. We are born bad to the bone.

O.T.O. != Satanism. From their FAQ (http://oto-usa.org/faq.html): "O.T.O. makes no claims or representations to be either Satanic or anti-Christian. We find that these characterizations serve no real purpose in describing what we are about, or our vision for humanity. Rather than being anti-Christian, we are in fact pro-Thelema: we support the Thelemic ideals of freedom of religious and personal self-expression; emancipation from superstition and social oppression; and the development of a world view which supports and encourages the age-old vision of the Universal Brotherhood of mankind."

What local body did you visit, out of curiousity?

Bone bad topic

Interesting. Kind of like worshiping Jesus and Satan are opposite sides of the same coin.

Satanist: I did not mean to be good!! Jesus made me do it!
