If we are to truly stand for the principles of free speech, his views should be permitted on the board. Why is it OK to support communism, a regime that resulted in the deaths of almost 150 million people? If communism is considered a fair ideology to espouse on WP, why is Brusilov banned for his mildly racist comments?

Heh? He got banned? Although he was somewhat rude towards me, i doubt he's that bad, left alone ban worthy o.O I've read stuff here that's sometimes worse than what he writes. Hrmph >< It'd be nice to have him back, just for the sake of having an intelligent person with views opposite of the mainstream to argument with. But meh, whatever happens. -.-

I agree. Although I strongly disagree with Brusilov's racialist views, he has remained civil in debating them (unless there is something I'm unaware of). It is crucial we unequivocally denounce hatred and bigotry, but censoring an unpopular point of view only makes a mockery of the spirit most of us share: namely, the open exchange and debate of ideas. We cannot have this if there is a correct party line to follow.

Your coordinates indicate low entropy potential space-time convergence with the Brusilov field; you could buy him a beer in the shadow of the Gateway Arch, and agree that he shouldn't be banned.

Personally, I thought he was reasonably well behaved except for his continual racism ... I don't know the details of why he was banned ... if it was a violation of the TOS, then that is only fair.
