He made a lot of sense.

when asked later why he left the Democratic party, he said "I didn't leave the Democratic party, the Democratic party left me"...

He also made a lot of sense with his Famous Speech (made during his 20 Mule Team Borax Days) in favor of Barry Goldwater.

When R.W.R. was a Democrat he was advocating equity. When R.W.R. became a Conservative Republican and pro Goldwater he was still advocating equity.

He left the party because of civil rights.

Nancy made him change parties.

Reagan was one of the worst presidents ever from someone who remembers.

1. Homelessness rates exploded in his presidency and the gap between rich and poor started growing to the present day - he also vastly increased the National Debt.

2. He fired the Air Traffic Controllers for striking - that made him an enemy of people who work. There is still to this day a shortage of them - who would be dumb enough to take a job where you can't even go on strike?

3. He declared ketchup a vegetable for the school lunch program.

4. He all but tried starting WWIII. I remember having nightmares about nuclear war at least once a week when he was president. And worrying about it almost constantly.

5. Appointing Scalia to the Supreme Court.

6. Iran-Contra.

7. S & L scandal.

8. Vetoing the Equal Rights Ammendment.

There's likely more.

This is what you get when you appoint a Texan cowboy actor to presidency <.< Is there ANYTHING good that comes out of Texas these days? >< Starting to seriously wonder....

I think Reagan was from California.

Ouch, sorry.... But he still was an actor for cowboy roles i reckon.
